Re: Hardass Riddles
I was playing this game when the old thread started, but I never got past level 6. I am guessing that it has something to do with the "Alt" button, though. (Possible spoilers)

Re: Hardass Riddles
I completely guessed and came with the answer. I have no idea how I got it, just that I assumed the first word was late and used at as the last two letters. Ran through the alphabet and came with chat. Typed it in, sure as ****, it worked. Holy crap. On to 20.

Re: Hardass Riddles
If it's the burger thingy, you'll have to translate the url (not the whole thing...for sure) to binary. If i remember correctly, google is your friend. :P

Re: Hardass Riddles
OMG...level 22 is death...one of the hardest levels in the game in my opinion. I had to get help on this level when I got to it lol
Some hints... 1.Take decibel 2.think about level 6 (ascii) 3.Think about level 20 (binary) 4.xor.jpg (unsound) 5.Take Unsound and do step 2 and 3 (thats where I got confused) 6.XOR (you should figure this out) 7.Think about level 6 again (ascii again xD) and from here it should be pretty straightforward... btw level 23 is fun and unique (one of my fav levels) so look forward to it while you go through this death level xDD

Re: Hardass Riddles
I really would like to make a riddle site eventually.
But in terms of difficulty, I don't know how to weigh Ouverture against Notpr0n. Notpr0n "seemed" harder at the time, but it was probably because I hadn't developed as strong of a "lateral thinking" sense. But I'd say they're both decent riddle sites. Some levels of Zest were much harder than Ouverture/Notpr0n, so I think that one easily takes the cake. Zest is *hard*, lol. The difficulty starts cranking up as soon as Level 20, and it just gets harder from there. So many tricky riddles, haha. I miss that site when it was still being "developed" -- having a bunch of people racing for the finish was a lot of fun. "Temp end!"

Re: Hardass Riddles
Notpr0n and Zest are both very heavy on "computer knowledge" in certain aspects. You need to analyze code, tear apart image files, analyze sound files, dig into the source, solve abstract puzzles, solve literal puzzles, scour Google... the list goes on. You don't really do too much of that in Ouverture Facile, but I still found it a nice enjoyable online riddle site.
If you want a challenge, Zest will keep you occupied for a while. It's harder than Notpron (I've beaten all the positive, negative, and Greek levels of Notpron as well as all normal and hidden levels of Zest, and I can tell you that Zest, at its peak, is like 5 times harder than Notpron). The atmosphere of the site is great and the puzzles are decently challenging. I think Notpron removed their old anticheats, but what they used to do was make "fake" levels and then have moles distribute level passwords/URL's to the web. It soon became very painfully obvious who was cheating and who was solving things legitimately. The funny part is, is that the fake levels had no solution, and yet people were still claiming to be beating them. Notpron's anticheat was really the fact that, past level 40 or 60 I believe, you had to pay a small fee to continue. To a riddle-thirsty solver, this was no biggie, but it wasn't worth it to cheaters to pay the extra money. It was a reasonably effective strategy, but, despite being a legitimate solver, I still didn't like the idea of paying. Then again I finished Notpron back when you didn't have to pay. http://zestriddle.ovh.org/ http://zestriddle.ovh.org/hellofshame.htm Came in 5th http://www.deathball.net/notpron/ranking.htm This is the old Notpron ranking list -- I'm on this list too but not as MrRubix.
