Does elapsed time have any effect on the calculated result (for the .dk test)? If not, I might retake it sometime.

P.S. - Imo, the logic behind #32 was somewhat tricky (although clever) compared to most of the (rather straightforward) last questions.

No, time doesn't matter.


However, taking extra time usually doesn't increase your score. The test purposely gives too much time in order to be unbiased against those who like to take their time.

Absolutely. There are a number of things that can lower academic performance. Just like normal individuals, high ability individuals can also have any number of learning/performance difficulties.

I did beat you by 3 points, but I should point out that the ceiling is 145. If you're at all familiar with a ceiling effect, you'll know it depresses scores that come too close to it.

As such, your IQ could be higher than that.

You could try that test. It's the only one with psychometric value on the internet capable of measuring high IQ. It is incredibly hard (I felt the need to warn you). Even then, the ceiling of this test is about 164 (SD 15). Beyond that, you're essentially alone. Issac Newton, Galileo Galilei...the Unabomber. Go put that brain to good use.

If you're actually taking this test and not crying within a few minutes, I would hardly call your ability frown worthy.

I would figure if either one of us went on to design something that had to be written in French we would make mistakes too.

Somebody could probably email him about it, though. Regardless, these types of grammatical errors are common in anyone that learns a language as an adult and there is no way to improve or get rid of it.

I had assumed the creator's native language wasn't English. I'm taking a French in school (French IV currently), and have a couple french pen pals, so I know what it's like to try to write in a different language - not easy.

I took iqtest.dk once in past, it was 120 on deviation 15 (133 on deviation 24), now I got this on deviation 15.


While I think IQ tests have some insight about you, this iqtest.dk test only measures the logical picture solving -area, there are many more areas in IQ-measurement, that you can shine or suck at and IQ-tests don't account for artistic intelligence either.

There are so many things to say about IQ but I don't feel like delwing into the debate.

If by "high ability individuals", you mean people who scored high on an official IQ test or just very intelligent, then you're right.

I'm not sure of the exact scores I received and I haven't taken any tests recently, but I scored quite high on whatever test the state was giving me.

The school I was in recognized my learning ability. They brought in experts to test me many times over the years. They even had private conversations with my parents that I didn't know about until about a year ago.

I was very smart, but it sort of "overloaded" my mind. I suffered from ADD, mania depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and some others that revolve around social anxiety. Of course, after time passed, I come to manage it. I still fight it, but I can at least control it most of the time.

Also, I don't believe meds are always the answer to those kinds of problems. I agree with Orgasm that they strip you of your humanity

I got a 135 on the iqtest.dk one Reach posted. I had a lot of trouble with the last three questions, couldn't find a pattern at all and decided to finish the test about 15 minutes early, rather than keep trying to find the correlation.

I don't know if anyone else has found this to be the case for themselves, but hard problems of this type (matrix style with grids of shapes or whatever) often give me trouble because I just don't think in the direction the test creator did and thus don't find the answer. Once I took a just-for-fun test with answers and one question which stumped me had nine 3x3 grids with squares 1, 4, and 9 filled in in the first, 6 in the second, 5 in the third, 6 in the 4th, and so on, and the main reason I didn't see the answer was just that I didn't think of converting the grids into decimal numbers. (Of course I would've seen the pattern immediately if it had been in numbers.) I'm not really sure if that one was a failure of intelligence or of guessing ability (or something entirely different). But that brings up the question of "what exactly comprises intelligence" and, well, I have no clue about that :P

Haha...I find it rather strange that a world-class cuber would have an aversion to grids. Then again, algorithmic visualization has an entirely different dimension to it.

I actually found this test quite enjoyable, although once again, I didn't know exactly how the timing system worked, so I might have been a bit hasty with my answers (especially in the last dozen or so). The result was an 870, which is approximately +3.2 stdev. I think at an optimal level of cognitive function, 910-920 should be well within reach, though the nature of the test (static structure + timed) would probably skew a retake to some extent.

If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say your score was 940+10.

I've had anything between 118 and 165 (!!!!!!) on the online ones. I'm serious. 165. Like, what the heck. I know I'm smart, but not that smart.
