Other than the fact that the chunks on the right might look like swiss cheese, I really don't know what bothers you so much with it. I like it a lot, for one.

I think the text looks a little unprofessional - and rather unfitting for the song and additionally shapes seem unnecessary.
Here is just my approach which went for the same theme but in a different approach.



If you (or the team, that is) enjoy this, I'll make the corresponding banner. Just wanted to show you my approach.
Keep making more things though, always good to have another artist on board.

I like this one better, but both would look just fine as a BG. I am going to need BG for mine (No graphic design experience at all).

I can't criticize you guys since I can't draw even if my life depended on it. Both backgrounds have strong points. True, Shikari's text might look a bit "unprofessional", but I believe that yours is a bit too small and not striking enough compared to his. It blends in that big splash of paint. I also liked Shik's color palette a bit more, but your splash effect definitely makes that other version look plain...

So, all in all, everybody wins.

Dear everyone: go back to 2010 with your fancy art school graphics. Here in 2011 we are back to 2005 graphics with nude anime girls and text covering their woohoos. Patrick Du is a hater and should be treated as such.
