Re: Still In School
The grammar in this thread is making me think you all should be in school 24/7 anyway.
Weak.

Re: Still In School
Two more weeks here. The last three days are dedicated solely to testing.

Re: Still In School
Pssh. You guys have to close school because of snow days.
Here in Canada (in my area), our school board doesn't care about how much snow there is. Heck, we could be buried in snow ourselves and still have to go school. Once, there was so much snow that all of the other school boards closed their schools down, but ours didn't care and stayed open. God I hate the Halton Catholic District School Board. But at least here in Canada that no matter how many days we miss, we don't create extra days to make them up. We just have to catch up on our work.

Re: Still In School
Sumzup is correct. Last year when i was in middle school we had a big wildfire in southeast Georgia(Ware county) that made us miss about 3 or so weeks of school during the month of may which was the month we were suppose to get out in. Unfortunately we had to make up the 3 weeks we had missed because it is the law to complete 180 days of school in Georgia. You didn't think you were going to just not complete those few days did you?

Re: Still In School
Our school board has never made us make up for any snow days, we just need to make up for the work missed, which makes for a lot of REALLY busy days and some missed content that we're responsible for learning ourselves, it's a bit annoying.
You would hate the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board more! Whenever there is REALLY bad weather, you guys are closed and we're open. Whenever there is a couple cm of snow, we're closed for no reason. Be glad! |

Re: Still In School
At least you guys DO close your school. We're always open 24/7.

Re: Still In School
My snow days occurred in Arkansas, and were only called if the Superintendent decided he couldn't get out of his own driveway OR enough buses got stuck at the bottom of hills on the dirt roads.

Re: Still In School
Well i'm not out of school or anything, i'm just now going to high school. But 8th grade, we missed 2 weeks because of snow, and we seriously didn't have to make ANYTHING up.

Re: Still In School
I have until June 24th before I get to graduate. :[
And for my school, we get three days leeway purposely saved for Snow Days. If they are used, then great. If not, we get an extra day off added on to our Memorial Weekend so our school calender doesn't change at all.
