Yes. Though as an index player and self acclaimed index stepper (yes, self acclaimed, I think I've reached the point where my index files are good, excluding the one for that thread about general appeal) I think the song itself has to be one that could be stepped for index, spread, dump, or pad. In my perspective, single BPM song is the only way to go.

You won't get a single song genre everyone will agree on, let alone a single song. But because electronica is the most stepped, I'd suggest finding something in that area. The rhythms and beats to pokemon medley you stepped is a perfect example.

I'm in for index, let me know when the song is chosen.

It actually would defeat the purpose imo. Once people start deciding songs, this thread will go on forever. To get this done and get it done quickly, leonid will be choosing the song and be the sole director. Removes influenced decisions. Oni-Paranoia mentioned something about leonid's bad side which I think is a bit rude. Why the hell would leonid go out of his way to come up with an idea, choose a song carefully and offer this to everyone just to screw them over with bias? I don't mean to be so blunt, but rather than rebel in that way just conduct your own single song pack. I kinda find it extreme that after lyricalnick's serious thread, and everyone coming together to discuss this, that leonid would go this far and say "lol, I don't like you, bad file." I'm not sure if you even know leonid personally, I'm sure I don't. But I have faith in this being an unbiased experiment.

Also, dude. People in the community piss me off all the time. Can't you see he's purposely pissing you off? The more you argue, the more he's going to post intentional garbage. It's basically (ugh, shoot me for bringing this up) the same thing Yaboy would do to KBO. The more you feed the troll (posts), the more active he/she becomes.

So, what's the status of this pack? Is leonid still laboring over the song selection process?

Really looking forward to seeing where this one goes...lots of newbie steppers wanting to get their foot in the door with this one, since there's the whole "nice file...wait, this dude did it?" factor going on with the judging.

For now, I'm still looking for a great song choice. I already have a song in mind, but I don't mind hearing some suggestions at all.
(If you have any song suggestions, please PM me instead of posting here. I'd rather keep the song choice secret until the pack thread is made)

If anyone would like to PM me song suggestions, please note these:

- The song should have never been stepped before. (or should have no popular charts at least) This is to prevent simfile authors from being affected by the song's original chart.
- The song should be good (i.e. shouldn't become old after playing a lot of times.) It should be generally liked by a lot of people, so songs like speedcore or anime are not applicable.
- The song should also offer a lot of stuff that can be stepped in various ways, so songs like uber rave or emerald sword are out.
- Lastly, the song should be shorter than 2:30 due to obvious reasons.
