And there are many people in the world who don't even know what the registry is, and will get scared while trying to follow your instructions. The registry file will make their life easier and stress free.

Any confirmation that this works and doesn't cause 'splodies?

Isn't the registry file specific to one's own computer? I'm getting to the point that I think if you take someone else's registry file, some things on your own computer might not work anymore. Say HighAndr0id doesn't have Microsoft Office on his computer, but you do on your own, taking his registry file will make you not able to run any Microsoft office software I believe.

I'm pretty sure I'm correct about this unless someone knows for a fact otherwise.

But you have to reboot vista to do it. I CALL PARADOX.

PS about to go reboot vista. Which in some cases may actually take longer than it takes to install ubuntu.

It's for people who upgraded from XP to Vista, so only people who have upgraded their OS to Vista can confirm this. (at least the page you linked to says that it's an upgrade problem) Vista still sucks for me, and it really doesn't have bad specs either. It was a fresh install and was pre-installed when I bought it.

Mine used to be supported till Edgy Eft or Feisty Fawn got released

Most cards are supported; you just have to go and find/ edit your driver in Ubuntu.
If you arent good with PC's though; you will for sure **** up your installation by messing with the drivers.

I wouldnt rec. using Ubuntu unless you are willing to learn it. If you are planning on only watching movies and using the internet; then ok... But Ubuntu takes a lot of getting used to to be able to customise it to work with things (Especially playing online games using WINE).

ok then so any solutions for people who had vista pre-installed, if what high android said doesn't apply. i tried what he said and upgrading and reinstalling flash player and my specs are pretty high, but ffr still looks choppy when i play it.

yeah this works for the most part. my computer still runs fine and nothing was lost. i still get lag spikes and random goods every now and then but it's a lot better than 300 goods on vc's.

so, you should make a tutorial that a 2-year old could understand, cuz I don't know how to System Restore, w hich means I can't do the next steps and I REALLY WANT MY VISTA TO NOT SUCK!

It's really not that hard to do a system restore, I can't explain exactly how to do it now though since I'm not on my Vista computer and am not able to till a few hours later. If the computer is relatively new with not much on it, then you could back it all up on 1 DVD-R, but that means you'll need a DVD burner, there are other storage devices that you could use, but a DVD-R is cheap and and pretty handy.

Oh, and you don't need to do a system restore. It's just for safety in case you mess up your computer.

Sorry for not being that helpful right now xD

I guess pictures could help. I could try to get some screen shots from my Vista computer later.

Cedega is a lot easier to install/use IMO then Wine, it may cost money but it's worth it. I bet you could find somewhere on mininova.com or isohunt.org easily.

And yes Buddha, we are both right. ^^

rushy, this fix is for a very specific lag problem. If you didn't upgrade to vista and aren't experiencing keyboard lag, then this won't work. I'd be happy to discuss your specific problem over pm's or msn.

As well didn't fix anything on mine.

Things I do that HELP...

- Set program affinity to one CPU (Since I run a dual core PC)
- Install and update Java
- Change browsers, Opera works best for me
- Fail and play SM

So maybe it's because I have 2 GB of RAM more than you?
