I think you should fix the difficulty indicator so that it can display more than one number. I entered the difficulties on my sims in the format of "2/5/7/10" and the only number that got displayed was the first.

RE: Simfile Warehouse. Comments? Suggestions?
yes... why not? there are files that I don't think are necessarily tens but definitely are better than nines for example. It'd be like the olympics and makes the ten rating not as whored out.

RE: Simfile Warehouse. Comments? Suggestions?
you can't just make an input that's less than ten but has only two digits possible?

On a 10 point grading scale, if you're having a hard time picking apart the 9s from the 10s, you're not utilizing the lower grades enough.
This isn't high school. A 9 isn't an A, an 8 isn't a B, etc. A grade of 6 would be a good simfile, in my eye. This is why I'm pushing for a 5-point rating system. 1=bad, 2=meh, 3=good, 4=great, 5=excellent. It's far less ambiguous. |

meh people aren't that mean. if they like a simfile maker they'll just be like "omg ten please let me fellate you!" People DO assume it's like grades and that a 6 is a D, etc.
even the harshest of critics will usually say "it was ok, blahblahblah, only 8/10". Another option is to add a simfile moderator rating, which would be shown independently of the others and could be more precise, as well as perhaps simfile moderator reviews. |

I am the harshest of critics and I give most files 1/10 - 3/10. There are like two files I would give a 10/10 to.

yes I understand but it's not like people would translate it that way.
3 would be the new "bad" rating, 4 the new "ok" and 5 the new "good". |

I doubt it. Note the huge turn in attitude of RPGamer's ratings when they switched to a 5-point scale.
It used to be that a 6 was for "really meh" games, now it's a 2. |

RE: Re: RE: Simfile Warehouse. Comments? Suggestions?
Chardish makes more sense, but talisman has a point. Most critics (and by most I mean the dumbasses on BMS) give simfiles they really don't like a 6. Then if they find one they think is the worst thing ever they jump down to a 1 or a 2. This is based on a 10 point scale, of course. I don't like the 5 point idea, 10 gives you more room to work with.
Myself, pretty much the lowest I'm willing to go with a non-retarded simfile is a 5. To get below a 5, either the sync has to be off, or the steps have to be absolute trash. I know it still doesn't quite utilize the 1/2/3 area, but it's better than most. Anyway, thanks for stopping all of the "war i get da cool arrow song can i hav greenday plz" threads. I'm happy that you guys are keeping it up regardless of BMS. The BMS community sucks anyway (I don't mean on the forums, I mean the people that rate simfiles and whatever). |

You can just make the digits stars if people are going to have that association.
