Re: Gaming nerdery question/challenge
Trying to be artsy with a DDR level. To you, think about how oddly reverent Stargroup was about Stepmania as a whole and how he thought piano demos could make the best simfiles. To others, think of a Super Mario Maker level that plays itself, I guess.

MTG is full of weird-as-shit jargon if you listen to whole conversations about it.

Re: Gaming nerdery question/challenge
using game-specific jargon almost feels like cheating, because any sufficiently complex game is going to have jargon/memes that require a lot of explanation, especially in social/online games
from FF11 I can give you a fuckton of these, it's not like these are going to be meaningful outside of this specific circle --- JP button, loldrg, BiS, gearswap, TP set, DRK zerg, weakness trigger, etc I think a fairly common example of OP's question is fighting game mechanics --- talking about framedata, block/hitstun, frame advantage/disadvantage, input buffering, etc. These are fundamental for high-level play in just about any fighting game but your average smash 4 player isn't going to know what these mean and explaining these things takes a while (from personal experience)

Re: Gaming nerdery question/challenge
your average smash 4 player might not know what input buffering is
your average melee player will |
