Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Tried them all, I was surprised at how damn easy Minute Waltz V2 was, damn that might actually be the one, not mindblockable much imo.
Other than that, Epilogue, Super Mario Bros Theme seem to be the most likely to be oni gets. But yeah. As far as suggestions, don't really look at the difficulty. I don't care much about it as it's a matter of landing everything. It has more chances of being piano etude (gymnastics) or skeletor than Ambient Angels. And as far as hiding pa/combo, I really can't. I play downscroll on the legacy engine, and I need them to be over the arrow layout to have any sort of consistency.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Another person in the hunt for that elusive Oni \o/ If you could almost get it on Epilogue, why not try 0? That one's slower and has less stupid patterns (no random one-handed trills), and I think it might be the easiest jumpstream-like file to get Oni on.
For me personally I expect I'll get it from that, Within Life or Fast Asleep. The problem with Fast Asleep is no longer the two big rainbow bursts, but nerves on the easier stuff that immediately follow them.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
I am a weird one, so if any of my potential unlocks sound stupid, it's probably because they're not practical for someone actually chasing Oni.
1: Eternal Drain [Heavy] -- song is relatively slow, but forces some semi-dense jumpstream. If you have no issues keeping steady, this one is easy -- just look out for the end! 2: Pure Ruby -- another jumpstream oriented file, but this one is much smoother. Unfortunately, in exchange for the smoothness in the streams, you'll have to contend with much faster jumpstreams. There are a couple of 32nd rolls, but they end with jumps that are on the same hand as the start of the roll, so flow shouldn't be much of an issue. If you can handle being coordinated at faster speeds, there's no major spikes in this file whatsoever. 3: Undiscovered Colors -- if you're good at bursts, this is the way to go. There are really tricky patterns (or so I thought), but for whatever fucking reason, everyone is good at this file. See if you're part of this group. 4: Flamingo - I very much expect people to give me flack for this one. Flamingo is a very spiky file, but the spikes themselves aren't terribly difficult if you're good at hitting jumps/triples without splits, in and out of 16ths. Some of the toughest patterns have implicit one-handed 16th minitrills (song isn't very fast, though), and also lead into and out of 32nds. You have to have your bearings on heavy layering in 8th notes, which can sometimes be difficult when contending with nerves. 5: Perfect Cherry Storm -- if you really can handle jumpstream, Perfect Cherry Storm is incredibly easy to get [Oni] on with a little bit of transition practice. The toughest parts of this file involve 32nd rolls/walls or some sandwiches into and out of 16ths. There is a short [14][23][14] jumptrill that is five notes. The good thing about this file is that you know what to expect; once you get past the 24ths in the beginning, you know that you have to stream and you have to stream very steadily. Honorable Mention: -- if you're feeling lucky, give Fast Asleep a try. There's only two really difficult bursts in the song, and it's really short overall. |

And yeah, fast asleep i lost the AAA twice after the hard bits. one from a kb miss on a jump (GAH), and another one messing up those stupid slow 2 note jacks at the end. Edit: UC flows so well tho, and doesn't have much one-handed bias iirc, so it's fairly easy to read. excellent file. Forgot about eternal drain. Very good option, it just took me a bit of isolation practice at the end (the jump jack isn't too hard, it can just catch you off guard) so that I had the confidence/muscle memory to nail it if I was nervous from AAAing up to that point

Try Battle Theme #37 I think it's called that. As long as you have the speed it's a straightforward file. Plus I got oni on it!

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Oh yeah surprised no one mentioned this yet, but Choprite could be another way to go. It's quite long, but in return for that the hardest thing you have to deal with is short bursts of 200bpm 16ths - although there are some quite strange transitions between and during those bursts. The other problem is that old wacky combination of nerves on a long song plus surprising strange stuff, like lolrandom 24ths/48ths, but altogether it's a contender for easiest FMO imo.
Or even Rottel if you can handle a bunch of 210bpm? jumptrills (i.e. one-handed trills on both hands ~at the same time~)

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Oh nice, I remember the many times I refused to play anything easier just to get Oni some time ago. Good luck on your hunt, heh.
Most of the really good suggestions are here such as Banned Forever, Undiscovered Colors, Rottel, and Eternal Drain [Heavy]. For me, the songs that seemed to be the most easiest to PA were Hajnal, Colorful Course, and Lawn Wake 1 (But I got my oni on Marisa, so lol.)

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
For those interested. I'd also like a replay picture for this one. Unlike Rocket Flight it might be really pretty accuracy wise!
