Goal is to have about ten songs for this release given it's more complex nature. I could start this up in a month or so, would that be okay with most of you? Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 02-28-2013 at 03:18 PM.. |

Re: CBR Presents Omnicore 2 RELEASED
I would never force people to do something they would not feel comfortable such as that.
I WOULD however have a thematic motive for an album such as "Sunny Day" or "Revenge", for example. Next one is going to be the collaboration experiment. Getting all giddy seeing what people can come up with when they combine forces and hopefully make some really neat stuff. Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 02-28-2013 at 03:26 PM.. |

Re: CBR Presents Omnicore 2 RELEASED
laughed hard at lurker's submission
haven't gotten around to listening to the album in one sitting but I skimmed through the majority of the tracks, and I'm very glad/surprised to see how much better this is compared to omnicore 1. the new artists are really good, and the returning artists have obviously improved their skills. gg ladies and gentlemen.

Re: CBR Presents Omnicore 2 RELEASED
Don't know I pulled the strings, the admins just have to do their part now... hopefully
Also my friend and fellow critic, Blue, has review the entire album as follows... Remember the number ratings aren't here to cause any drama, it's just his personal subjective grade for what he enjoyed or didn't: "A vast improvement over its predecessor, CBR Presents Omnicore, CBR Presents Omnicore 2 brings with it a much different feel from the first one resulting in, paradoxically, a combination of more energy and more restraint. Mostly presenting a cool aesthetic, this album is definitely worth listening to by all potential audiences, as it has much less of the previous album's eclectic "manic key-smashing into conceptual ambiance", which made it somewhat less accessible. However, the album is interspersed with unique tracks like Iron Devil, Sorauri Days and Crystallize, to keep the listener from feeling any sensation of monotony. Whereas the first Omnicore would have ranked an average of somewhere between a high 6 and a low 8, Omnicore 2, after averaging all of the individual scores, comes out to a solid 8.8, dragged down by the two tracks I personally disliked, m-m-malice and Vostok, which were, respectively, a bit too crowded and sparse." -Bluethenasia Code:
Individual songs with scores/notes: Welcome 2 Omnicore 8.7/10 -Classy vocals -Catchy melody and underlying beat -A bit short, though obviously an intro to the album Clarity (Sup Noriken Remix) 8.4/10 -Haven't heard the original -Jumps right into the action -Very well mixed from what I can tell -Beat is eminently tap-able -Vocals blend with instrumentation Carpig's Wild Ride 8.9/10 -Nice 8-bit aesthetic -Reminiscent of many older video-games -Mellower version of "X-Soldier Storm" from Omnicore 1 Scraping Styrofoam 8.3/10 -Professional-sounding -Catchy, but unobtrustive on the senses -Takes its time Iron Devil 9.1/10 -Nice guitar intro -Very clean instrumentation, especially for electronic guitars -Would play in car m-m-malice 7.6/10 -Very rich in sound, but a bit crowded at times -Can be overwhelming, though this may be the point -Ending is oddly satisfying in its glitchiness Outrage 8.6/10 -Dubstep aesthetic is quite pleasing -Pleasing overall, though chiller than most dubstep B.F.T 9.2/10 -Love it, 8-bit with a bit of drum-beat to it Journeys 9.2/10 -Nice jazzy sound -Would expect to hear in the background of a book store -Reminds of BADBADNOTGOOD but less eclectic Natmatta (Anwar Louis Remix) 9.0/10 -Again, unfamiliar with the original -Somewhat glitchy aesthetic, tickles the eardrums Binary Gossip 8.6/10 -Reminds of Pokemon, vaguely, especially a town theme -Nice beat overall, chill again -Not particularly memorable save its ending, but nice background music Sorauri Days (Assertive Remix) 9.1/10 -Sounds like something to be played on FFR/DDR/Stepmania -GURREN LAGANN!!! -Oh, did I mention, GURREN LAGANN! -Good on its own, even not taking its origin into account Nanaimo 9.2/10 -Kommisar impresses again -8-bit aesthetic with a bit of 'battle theme' Man vs. Machine 8.9/10 -Chill, but with a hint of energetic -Nice solo in the middle of the song, breaks up the song nicely Horn No Oto 9.1/10 -Sounds like it'd belong in Katamari's 'star' level/s at the start -Horns, bro. -Nice build-up into melody, with a nice bass-line BlastZone 8.9/10 -Nice flow throughout song -Overall nice sound, though not particularly memorable Let's stfu 9.1/10 -Cool title, to say the least -Calming and invigorating Infinite Output 9.1/10 -Piano intro into guitar surprisingly effective -Plenty of energy with both guitar and electronic elements -Piano outro gently brings the listener back to reality Nightmare 9.3/10 -Bass-lines, 'nuff said. -No. Really. 'Nuff said. Call me Ivy (Alternate Version) 8.6/10 -Voice blends well with backing bass -Vocals themselves are very clean and smooth Vostok 7.3/10 -Ambient, but a bit lacking in definition -Not particularly memorable outside of its length Crystallite 9.4/10 -Melody blending with bass provides a very nice effect -Hummable instrumentation, and catchy lyrics -Would tap that...beat...that is... -Classy saxophone -Nice end to the album overall Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 03-1-2013 at 06:51 AM.. |

I'm somewhat surprised actually. I like Outrage compared to Nightmare but I'm glad that it's liked. I was questionable about it for a bit.

Re: CBR Presents Omnicore 2 RELEASED
pretty accurate listing, i think that should be the standardized way of rating things from now on. not rly tho
Also my personal list would look way different than his, but I agree the average quality here is amazing. PS: We are discogs official again -- added this release just as the first one so all of us are in the database <3 http://www.discogs.com/release/4337904 Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 03-1-2013 at 12:10 PM.. |

Re: CBR Presents Omnicore 2 RELEASED
Just a slight error on Discogs. Nightmare was posted twice. Outrage should be #7. Thanks
