Re: Stepmania France Megapack released
Everyone's opinion is welcomed.
But people who just dismiss this pack as useless before trying it are just ignorant. |

Re: Stepmania France Megapack released
it's more like dismissed as, probabilistically speaking, not worth the time which is a far better grounded statement you can make

Re: Stepmania France Megapack released
I'll check this out, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of the simfiles are worse than their predecessors.

Patashu and many others are pretty original in song choices afaik. I don't think you realize that alot of the "overstepped simfiles" are initially stepped by good stepartists, and THEN the mass overstepping starts. So they were original in song choice in the first place. People just started copying the songs after the original song choice. btw, have you made any non-judge 1/life 1 vid yet? xD

But the sims on this pack are improved versions or different versions than the originals. for example, paranoia evil 52 decline was a really bad simfile, I have improved it. for hatten carnival and AAA, this is a new long version. for necropotence, scylaax improved my own version of necropotence that you don't like. And it's a great sim. Last edited by zebdal the legend; 03-8-2009 at 07:51 AM.. |

Except for dumb stuff like paranoia evil 52 decline, but that's a song that shouldn't even be stepped. Song is terrible lol. (Which is why no good stepartist has stepped it before lol) Most of the stuff in this pack were pretty annoying to play. Some were a tad bit fun, but I wouldn't say these were improvements on the well known simfiles for these songs. Alot of unneccessary jacks and layering. Blue/Yellow note syndromes, missed notes, offsync notes. Even if you have an already synced sim (stolen from the original charts), you guys still managed to put notes that were offsync. Almost all these songs have been stepped to their potential before, so it's a waste of time trying to restep them to "improve" them. Like the Kamaitachi and Dream to Nightmare in this pack were nothing compared to Kommi's Kamaitachi and Cetaka's Dream to Nightmare. And BF2014 for example was completely overstepped.

He's most definetely not bad lol. He makes fun hard simfiles.

You guys should think of the flow of the file, instead of layering the crap out of it until it becomes awkward to play. If something doesn't flow nicely, don't do it.

for the sharpnel simfiles, sharpnel has a lot of success for stepartists. I'm the best french Sharpnel Fan in France, that's why I chose 6 sims on Sharpnel, not necessary to improve them, but just for doing my own version of them, in particular blue army who is my favourite song of Sharpnel. Quote:

What simfiles on this pack do you like? Maybe it's better to begin by that. Last edited by zebdal the legend; 03-8-2009 at 08:57 AM.. |

And calling yourself the biggest Sharpnel fan in France makes you look a bit cocky lol. There are probably tons of people that you don't know about in France that love Sharpnel. Aside from the cockiness, check out my collection lol. If you got anything I don't have yet, message me. :P I'm trying to complete an entire discography of DJ Sharpnel. Maybe we can trade songs if I don't have a song you got. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...hought/172503/ Quote:
I guess it's just up to personal taste. I for one really like cetaka's simfiles, since they pose a nice challenge and are fun to play when you're good enough. And no offense, but his sims make more sense than your sims.

Re: Stepmania France Megapack released
When I saw this thread I thought, "wonderful. Some real European techno songs will be here that isn't sterotypical of SMO, FFR, DDR etc...."
Thx for dissappointing me. Im sorry, but none of these songs Ill ever play. I dont even play the versions of these songs from the well known artists. obvieously the first prob here is stepping songs that have been stepped a billion times. Ya I would buy sharpnel Albums to. The problem is, is that there would be only be a selected amount of songs that I would listen to over and over again and the rest I wont ever touch. Thats the problem with non compliation/ non nonstop techno albums. Last edited by operationstrawbarry; 03-8-2009 at 09:40 AM.. |

So any improvements on the simfiles would mean a very very minor improvement. What I'm saying is, songs are stepped as good as possible already by good and well-known stepartists, and don't need any improvements. Quote:
Anyway, I saw your comment on my random thought. I don't just give away songs, it doesn't work like that. :P I want something in return for rare songs. :P They're rare for a reason, and I don't plan on giving them out like free candy. :P edit: I have 41 albums, of which most I have stored digitally. (I got some Sharpnel albums in real life as well though. But they're kind of hard to come by in the Netherlands) I have 4 livesets, 4 megamixes, and 26 single songs (and 90% of them is retardedly hard to get lol).

it's just a megapack done by french people of stepmania france. Quote:
but some sims needed big improvements. maybe not all, but whatever. for a really first pack I think we have done a decent pack. If you see an old pack like "keyboard megapack" or "keyboard collab" you'll see that was not perfect too. If we do a new pack in the future, it will be better than the first and surely with new songs, no resteps sims. This pack will be used too as a pack playable for my french online tournament on stepmania france. Quote:
Maybe, it will be cool if we created a fan website of DJ Sharpnel, with all the infos of this songs, all the samples references (I have a big quantity of his references thanks to wikipedia), maybe a top 50 of his songs, etc... And it'll be easier for you to find the songs you want if all sharpnel fans are on the same website. Last edited by zebdal the legend; 03-8-2009 at 09:52 AM.. |

And keyboard megapacks and collabs were packs before any solid simfile theories were made. Nowadays the sims need to meet certain standards to be included in a good pack. And some of the sims in the keyboard megapacks and collabs were pretty good, even now. Good that you're going to do new songs though. Resteps are mostly frowned upon lol. Quote:
But I'm not gonna host any hard to get sharpnel songs on it.
