I'm pretty sure this comment is an example of how you feel sure and protected behind your internet personality and anonymous screen, not to mention your hypocrisy.
I'm surprised there isn't some law forbidding a convicted sexual abuser from moving in next to his victim.fgsfdsComment

Wow, seems to me like a bunch of you didn't even read the damn article.I'm pretty sure this comment is an example of how you feel sure and protected behind your internet personality and anonymous screen, not to mention your hypocrisy.

The guy was her neighbor BEFORE he sexually abused her. He moved in because HE LIVED THERE BEFORE GOING TO JAIL. How is that hard to understand? It's not like they're going to force him to move out his house just because of that. He served his time and that's that - he'll just keep living on his normal life.
Also, Necros, not everyone is entitled to the same opinion. Not everyone is going to feel sorry for this girl. I certainly do not.Snapchat: icequeenilseComment

Re: LOOOL sucks to be THIS girl
Correct, they're not going to because they CAN'T. They can't tell people where they can and cannot live, and even if she got a restraining order (Which I think I heard somebody suggest...) he still wouldn't have to move. The law can't just move you from your place of residence because you've had a problem with somebody, regardless of how extreme the circumstances...Wow, seems to me like a bunch of you didn't even read the damn article.

That being said, its still horrible that she has to deal with something like that...
Rape, in my opinion is one of the most horrible of crimes, right up there with murder and torture, and those who commit such a crime should die >_>
Rehabilitation rarely does anything worth raving about...

Re: LOOOL sucks to be THIS girl
It also didn't say anything about rape, just a sexual assault. I mean, not -JUST- a sexual assault, that's pretty horrific anyway, but let's not assume a more extreme crime than the already terrible one described in the article.
As for the issue of the guy moving back into his house, last I checked the whole purpose of serving prison time was to be punished for actions you've done. Even more, the whole point is that when you've served your time, you've SERVED YOUR TIME.
If there are fears that this person is not rehabilitated and will re-offend, he never should have been let out of prison in the first place.
Prison is supposed to serve three purposes. First, it is supposed to punish offenders, second it is supposed to rehabilitate them into useful members of society, and third it is supposed to act as a deterrant to people considering committing crimes.
When any of those things fails to be the case, it is a failure of the justice system not working how it is supposed to, not a failing of this guy.
The prison system says "You've been punished fully and properly for what you did, and are good to go back into society" and that should be the end of it. They -shoudln't- be able to force him to move, they shoudln't be allowed to tell everyone in the area that he's "A sex offender" (If the state doesn't have a registry and/or he wasn't put on it, I'd call that slander, and consider sueing) and she should absolutely not be allowed to get a restraining order on him.
If now that he's back, he continues being creepy and stalking her or whatever, then yes by all means, send him back to jail to get buttraped some more, but if he just wants to get on with his life, he should absolutely be allowed to do so.Comment

If I were her parent, knowing the guy still owned the house next door, I would have sold the house a long time ago and gone somewhere else.Originally posted by Tater Tot
