err, i worded it totally wrong. what i meant was will there be some type of compatibility with the DS and Wii to get some extra features out of the Wii?

Is a DS worth picking up if i'm already planning on getting a Wii?

Yes, it's confirmed that they will be compatible, and will be capable of interacting...No specifics have been announced beyond that they are capable to...So really we don't know if it'll be used, either.

But the DS Lite is worth picking up regardless of whether you're getting a Wii.

Talking Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.

I have been "nintendo-ing" ever since The Nintendo came out. I am hooked on the Metroid Prime series. And I am peeing on myself because i am so excited that Metroid Prime 3 will exist. However I am a little saddened that this will be the last of the metroid prime series. I am also sad that nintendo is going to intentionally make this version "easier" (they said that) than the previous two, because of the complex control. They didn't need to do that. I could learn the hard way. But it's going to be so cool to throw your hand out there to use the grapple beam because of the motion sensor control.

I also can't wait until super smash brothers brawl! WARIO WILL BE A PLAYABLE CHARACTER!!! And hopefully a new Mario/Nintendo DDR game; with not just Mario songs but Zelda and Metroid Prime and Star Fox and Pokemon and etc. OMFG! OMFG! I CAN'T WAIT! I CAN'T WAIT!
I haven't been this excited since the release of HP & the HBP!

Well, I gotta go change my pants.

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/21/iw...ricing-models/

Summary:

President of Nintendo thinks that pricing games high, then letting them drop in price as they age is a stupid idea and retailers hate to do it.

Quote:
Each software should have its own price point depending on its volume, theme, contents or energies and ... development costs
Basically it means that new games that we all know will sell really well and that every store will order cases of will probably sell for $40-$50. Games that are from a third party developer or just games that don't have a lot of press need more reason for people to buy them, and what better reason than a low price?

Honestly, this works. One of the main reasons I was so set on getting Super Monkey Ball solely on a single friend's recommendation of the game was because it retailed for $30 when it came out. The sequel was $30. Other awesome games have been like this as well. Katamari Damacy was a prime example. Even after the first one became hugely successful, the creator still allowed the sequel to be priced evenly with the first.

Go nuts. It's a guy who has a lot of things to compare sizes with his model of the Wii console and controller.

Dunno. Kotaku is a pretty reliable source. Though the execs just said "Quarter 4 2006". September is in Quarter 4. Barely.

Late October, early November. Too many rumors/sources to post. Just take my word for it. It will be announced shortly, so I wouldn't worry too much about speculating.

EDIT: Sorry, they're announcing the release date (and presumably price) in september officially, so I really wouldn't expect anything in september, or early october. Again, late october, early november.

I got about £150 odd saved up in my Wii Savers account. Has anyone got a resent update of how much the Wii is looking to cost now.

Well, you know it will be out before the holiday season, which is all that matter to me. Hopefully some good titles other than the announced ones will accompany it by then.

News!

Quote:
Some new information on Nintendo's forthcoming Wiimote have surfaced over the weekend from Wii developer documentation obtained by IGN. Here are the goods:

* Controller will use AA batteries.
* Battery life to last 30-60 hours.
* Will use Bluetooth on a 2.4GHz bandwith to communicate with the console.
* Features 6KB of "non-volatile" memory, possibly for speaker?
* Uses a SYNCHRO button to identify Wii controllers that can be used with the console.
* LEDs show which player is communicating with the console and illustrate battery life.
* A built-in rumble motor can be turned on or off.

A Nintendo rep also PR'd IGN with the following statement: "There are many details that we've divulged about the console, but there is also more to learn." Console manufactures have had us talking about console specs for years, but Nintendo has seemingly changed the trend to controllers. So will this thing bounce if dropped? The speculation is killing us!
Part two news!

Quote:
An intriguing Red Steel multiplayer detail recently surfaced during GamePro's interview with Ubisoft creative director Nicolas Eypert. When asked about the game's multiplayer, Eypert had this to say:

"[You'll] have up to four players. If they play together in split screens we can only say that the fight will not be only on screen."

While the 4-player figure is underwhelming by today's standards, we're certainly curious about the off-screen activity Eypert has hinted at. Cross-room shootouts? Mock swordfights? Could be groundbreaking ... could be awful -- it will most certainly be embarrassing.

Can Ubisoft resuscitate the current state of 'couch' co-op?
And always a good read: http://wii.ign.com/articles/718/718946p1.html
