Well, it's about 200 out of the thousands or so of PS2 games that won't work, I heard.
However, for $600, this sort of thing shouldn't even happen. =/

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
You know it's pretty bad when your company is losing around $300 for each PS3 sold and there are various game problems arising.

I don't like the Xbox 360's weird lighting, though. All the reselling ... I'm tired of people complaining. It's Sony's own damn fault for selling systems way below the price people are willing to pay for it. Sony could of easily made it so they didn't lose much at launch and still get enough sales, then lower the price two weeks later.

If i've learned anything as a gamer its that YOU NEVER EVER, buy a console on launch date you wait like a month or so when *most* the bugs are worked out and the price drops alittle... Hmm lets see $600 for something that didnt work well out of the box.. or $500-550 a month later when they should have there **** together lol.. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
So, in my area, I heard there were FIGHTS over who would get a spot in line to get into the actual store. By the time they got in, only two people were able to purchase it since the employees already ninja'd their own PS3s.
Some stores in my area actually had 30 or so in stock at the release. Still, that is a pitiful amount. ~Tsugomaru |

The Xbox 360 has been out for a year. It's still $400. Learn things before posting them as facts. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
Prices might drop around next Holiday season. And that's at the earliest.
Also, I'm kind of glad I didn't get one right away. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
It might be possible. There are such things called a sale, and that is to sell things so that companies don't lose as much money than if they were to not have one.

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
...what was your point?
That initial consoles are buggy? Look, with all three consoles, the companies can send firmware updates through the network. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo can allow users to bugfix without buying a new console, free of charge. Now, actual hardware changes like design and such will be different. Like the DS -> DS Lite or GBA -> GBA SP. Then again, aside from the Japan-only Panasonic Q that was only better in terms of DVD capabilities, there was no 2nd version of Gamecube. There was no second PS2. There was no second SNES. There was a top-loading NES that sucked, but most people stuck with the original NES. Sony likes to re-release though. PS -> PS1. PS2 - > PStwo. That's because they make their products wrong the first time. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
there was a second ps2 its called the ps2 slim... im tired so ill bitch in the forums more in the morning
*^^^^^disregard didnt read the bottom...^^^^^* and im sure there is some console/handheld that dropped price in first month like the NGage or somthing And my point was completely that intial consoles are buggy so dont rag on the price thing that was part of an example Last edited by Biff_tech; 11-17-2006 at 10:26 PM.. |

WTF are you talking about? First, get the names right you lose all credibility on that right there. PSX to PS1 was because they could minaturize the chipset and make it more portable and cheaper (thus sell it for cheaper). PSXs were not buggy except at launch. The next few generations of the hardware were fine. PS2 to Slimline PS2 was because they combined a whole bunch of the internal chips and whatnot. Plus it could be made cheaper (thus sell it for cheaper) Sure, PS2s had hardware problems, but near the end of the PS2 before it went slimline, Sony had straightened them all out. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
The PS2 is gonna end up like the PS1, everyone is going to have more than two of each. They also cannot sell it at cheap prices like $40 since nobody will want them anymore.
My friend already has 3 PS2s he doesn't need or use. GOGOGOGOGO. It is sad that the PS3 might one day become like this. =[ PS3 PS3 Revised PS3 Slimmed ~Tsugomaru |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
Grandia, sorry that I can't get Sony's annoyingly useless naming scheme down.
"Hey, instead of thinking of new and innovative names, let's use the same child's toy name we've been using ever since we stole ideas from Nintendo back when they wanted us to help them with the SNES attachment that eventually turned into the PSX." |
