Re: FFR Scores
NWE is easy to AAA compared to most masters songs. blackflag didn't feel like that good of a run, really. I'd rate it high VC for FFR because of the jumpstream and jack syndrome.
edit: I'm probably not up to date on all the difficulty ratings lately, because I haven't played any new songs besides this. But it seems like people are good enough now that it isn't FMO. Last edited by ledwix; 09-30-2007 at 11:39 PM.. |

Re: FFR Scores
I've always thought NWE is a Very Challenging. I don't think it deserves FMO status. Epidermis is definitely an FMO but I don't see why people think it's so difficult compared to other FMO's. It's just an unusual file, but it isn't that much harder at all sans some framegluts and trills that aren't so bad.

Re: FFR Scores
I think it's just the way it looks. It looks REALLY intimidating. (to us normal players, not you)

Re: FFR Scores
It's definitely the appearance. Maybe it's just because I play music off (music on... that song is just creepy, lol. It feels awkward and uncomfortable the whole way through with the music playing along).

Re: FFR Scores
The difficulty ratings shouldn't go down just because people are getting better. If more people can do a difficulty then so be it, but the difficulty should not be adjusted to compensate.
With that said, NWE is definitely a FMO. It has a crapton of jack syndrome, lots of trills, jumpstream, and has lots of awkward rhythms (the jump-tapjump--jump-tapjump comes to mind). I'm so bold to say that Epidermis is borderline FGO. The file is ridiculously hard, but it's well made, fun, and flows, and therefore seems easier. But every note in a trill being a 4-framer definitely is not easy. The reason why it doesn't compare to the FGOs is because it has nothing retarded: no 2-framers for no reason, no 8-minute-long jumpstreams for no reason, etc.

Re: FFR Scores
Yeah but back then all of the difficulties were retarded. FotBB was labeled as 13/12 FFS.
The difficulties should not change from when they were standardized to the FFR Actual Song Difficulties thread. Expanded, maybe, but shifted, no.

Re: FFR Scores
those ratings were done by LD.... all LD did was take the dwi rating given by the stepfile author. clearly that is not accurate. in fact, it didn't take into account the file at all.
so comparing difficulties from when LD did it to now is stupid. ps - none would escape is a FMO. low on the FMOs, but a FMO. Epidermis... high FMO. doubt it's FGO because it doesn't have any 2 or 3 framers, mainly.

Re: FFR Scores
Technically Max 300 at one point would be deemed FGO 9_9
I think difficulty ratings are best determined by comparing songs to songs of "obvious" rank (e.g. Piano Etude is an obvious FGO, Vertex Beta is an obvious FMO, etc). None Would Survive is tricky because it's harder than most VC's but easier than most FMO's. I think you could justify either one (high VC or low FMO), but my gut says it's a VC (only because I feel like it's a far cry from most of the other FMO's and isn't *that* much harder than most of the VC's). Just my opinion. |

Re: FFR Scores
I agree that NWE should be a vc. It is much easier than any other FMO. But, I also don't see it being harder than some of the top vc songs.

Re: FFR Scores
NWE is definitely 78 or 79, it's clearly harder than Silence, VB, Sympathizer, and K8107.
