Dear -.-.-.----._..-_>Spitfire.---.-,--.,->_-____---.-- or however the **** you spell your name, please stop making files. Honestly, Ambient Angels is probably the most awkward thing I've ever played. I'm not even complaining about the difficulty, it's not that it's hard. I'm pretty sure at least half the jumps (and like all the yellow 16th jumps) in the big jumpstream sections aren't actually stepped to anything, and are just there to make it more difficult. I'm certainly not a stepfile judge or anything, and of course this is all my personal opinion, but I'm so annoyed with the first ~500 and the last 200-300 notes of this file that I'm just gonna try to ride 3 goods into the next round and hope for better quality control for later rounds.

The song actually sounds great. Just wish it could have gotten a more technical, well thought out file.

Awesome! I don't know why, but I either get random goods on the jumps at the start, or a few goods on the little rollstream-thing parts that coincide with the snare drum.

I get most of mine from pressing jumps too early on the 12th jumpstream in the middle.

PS The file has a solid layering scheme and a technical background combined with some climax theory of really dense jumpstream (all of the notes are stepped to something).
If you fail to see it, my file is not for you.

the file is actually pretty technically and well thought out lol. if you listen you'll hear what those jumps in the second half of the file go to. layering is all it is hehu

Quality control isn't a term solely defined for one person.


edit: on a side note, a lot of people seem to do this, but one's performance on a song certainly doesn't correlate to the file's quality. But people seem to equate these two unfairly almost all the time. They can't find anyone to blame, so guess what's the next best thing to blame.

If the file was a minute or so longer and 1.2x the speed, it would've made siiiiiiiick jumpstream practice for some of the harder files in the tourney

I shouldn't say it's not well thought out, that's not really fair. You clearly put time into it. It's just awkward as hell to me; I can't quite put my finger on it, so to speak. It's really the last section of jumpstream that bothers me. I haven't played it with my expensive headphones yet, so perhaps I'm not hearing all the sounds in the song, but it just seems to me that jumps are there that shouldn't be.

None of this is personal by the way. My last post was a little bit more rude than it should have been, I'm sorry. I guess I'm a little bitter because I was expecting to not have any problems with the songs until later rounds.

Performance on a song? Three goods is decent enough for me. Even if I had sightread AAA the thing I would still have the same opinion. Even if I go back and AAA it now, I will still hold this opinion. What you said is actually an unfair thing to say, considering I have AAAs on files I consider to be quite awkward, and do not have AAAs on files I don't find to be awkward. It's all opinion or perception or whatever you want to call it. I'm not "blaming" anyone or anything for anything. I admit my comment about quality control was probably uncalled for, but you're generalizing in an unfair way.
