FFR: The League of Champions
Welcome To The First Ever FFR League of Champions! SIGN-UPS END: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 11:59 CST Hello everyone. This is Krunky, TC_Halogen, norsegod, and Nocturne bringing you something new to the table of FFR. We all remember the FFR Official league that Devonin was hosting a while back. Well, we're here to somewhat bring it back, but with our own special twist. This tournament will be held basically just like a normal league is held. We will have a season, then playoffs, and finally, a championship round. There will also be a qualifying round--but different as to what you're used to. We'll get to that in a moment. Here are the absolute basics of the tournament: Rules: 1.) Absolutely NO CHEATING. Any person caught cheating will be automatically DQ'd. If we feel that there's some sort of discrepancy/inconsistency between scores, we will ask you for proof. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 2.) There will be NO arguing with ANY of the hosts. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL. In recent tournaments there has been a ridiculous amount of hostile behavior towards not only the players, but also the hosts. We want to run this perfectly. If you have a problem with something that regards to this tournament then please PM any of the four hosts. 3.) SPECIFY YOUR MAIN ACCOUNT. If you want to play on an alt be sure to provide us with your MAIN account so we can take a look at your stats from there. Those are the major rules of this tournament, but the obvious ones are obvious. :] Score Submissions: When you submit a score you MUST: - include the date and time along with your username and the game window in the screenshot OR - have a screen shot that includes the score with a replay as well as the date and time obtained along with the member count. Either of these is acceptable as a submission. If proof of submission includes the time of which you got the score, as well as your name--it will be acceptable. Lack of either of these in any form of submission will result in a rejected submission. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Divisions/Difficulties There will (hopefully) be 6 divisions (5 if not many people sign up). We are hoping to get 16+ in EACH division. It would make things a lot easier. The difficulties of the divisions are as follows: D1 = 5(low)-8(mid) [22-55]* D2 = 6(mid)-9(mid) [35-65]* D3 = 7(low)-10(low) [40-70]* D4 = 9(mid)-11(mid) [65-79]* D5 = 10(mid)-12(mid) [70-86]* D6 = 11(low)-12(high) [76-?]* * -- ratings according to this thread. Scoring The Tournament: The scoring of this tournament is as follows: The tournament is a PA based system. We will take your raw score and divide it by the maximum raw score that can be achieved. From there we will multiply it by 100. So for instance; The song = Excite Bike: The maximum raw score you could achieve is 1600. Let's say you got 1 good on it, your raw score would be 1575. We would take the 1575 and divide it by 1600 (1575/1600=.984375). From there we would multiply it by 100: .984375*100= 98.4375 (also equal to the percentage of the maximum score you have obtained). Scores will be truncated to the second decimal place, and any other decimals will be dropped. In this case, your final score and submission for the round would be 98.43. With this being a league, we want to prevent any possible tiebreakers come playoff time. After the seven rounds have passed, players will be seeded based off of their cumulative league score, from 1 (best) to 8/12/16 (worst, dependent on signups). If we have an odd number of entrants, people will be cut based off of how many people are in each said bracket. Explanation Of The Tournament: As stated previously, this will be run like any other league. We will have a regular season, which will last 7 rounds. After those seven rounds, we will have playoffs. The amount of people that are entered in the playoffs will be based upon participants. Potential bracket setups will include 16 players per bracket, 12 players per bracket, or 8 players per bracket. Playoff matches will be normal seeding, split in half between a single bracket. This means: in an 8 person bracket--1 v. 4, 2 v. 3 and 5 v. 8, 6 v. 7 in a 12 person bracket--1 v. 6, 2 v. 5, 3 v. 4, and 7 v. 12, 8 v. 11, 9 v. 10 in a 16 person bracket--1 v. 8, 2 v. 7, 3 v. 6, 4 v. 5, and 9 v. 16, 10 v. 15, 11 v. 14, 12 v. 13 This is to ensure that even the lowest seed has a chance to progress in the tournament, and it also makes the stronger players have tougher matches in each round. The 16 and 8 player brackets are very straightforward seeing as it goes cuts in half all the way to 1. (For example: 16-8-4-2-1, 8-4-2-1). However, for the 12 player bracket, the 6 losers will play a round, cutting to the top 2. The top 2 players in the loser's match move on to the next round of the winner's bracket to form an even 8 player bracket (12-6(8)-4-2-1). Beginning Qualifying Round: In the FFR Official League, Devonin held a series of qualifying rounds. We won't do quite that, due to loss of interest. What we have in mind is a little different, and slightly more work. After signing up, there will be 3 songs posted. The difficulties will be ranged from high level 10 to high level 11. You must play all three of these songs and submit them here in the thread. We will place you accordingly based upon your scores of the three songs. If there are any other questions or concerns with anything in the OP, please contact one of us. We will be happy to answer anything we can. Thanks and we hope you enjoy our tournament!
