Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
Guess who's currently in the process of stepping a file?
BTW: Tass, what exactly constitutes a boring file? |

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
I totally agree with this. If you look at the difficulty rankings, many files seem clustered between 55 and 70.
I am trying to make more files in the 25 to 40 difficulty range.

So it's Rebirth's steps to Air huh...i got nothing against Rebirth, but I'd rather have Reach's steps....I still like Rebirth's work though.

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
I feel it's pretty stupid just to re-step (read: dumb down) songs that are already popular on SM for FFR.
The whole purpose of FFR in my eyes is to get artists that haven't gotten much exposure out into the limelight, so I think it's good to step the songs by musical "nobodys" that show up in the audio submission forum.

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
The jacks are too fast. He basically NEEDS to take then out, dunno why he didn't take my advice.
As for syncage, it was not off by enough to get in the way of either my MA or my enjoying the file. So I think that is will be more than fine for FFR. By "not much consistency" I think he is reffering to technicality. It's a pretty freeform file, but it IS fun. IIRC 112.5bpm+ starts to lose frames, and 150bpm+ is potentially un-AAA-able.

You just get "FFR R1 Simfile Author" added and a custom title. Playing queued songs is only for subscribers.

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
Hm... okay Tass a question. It seems like some of my files so far have been a bit too either layerd or streamed for FFR. Here is what I am thinking you are looking for (correct me if I am wrong):
1. There aren't THAT many jumps 2. You basically follow 1 or 2 melodies throughout the song 3. You make interesting patterns/ not so much stream 4. It's fun. Is this about accurate?

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
skybeam... 1 is definitely correct. since jacks don't usually register properly on FFR, we try to have as few as possible. if the jacks FIT PERFECTLY, use them by all means. but if there is another equally acceptable placement of the arrows instead of the jacks, use the other instead.
2. a file shouldn't be all over the place. it shouldn't vary from OMG FALL ASLEEP EASY for the 1st half, then OMG UBER HARD for the 2nd half. keep it consistent, or fairly consistent, throughout. 3 and 4 go together. for the most part... a song that is 1 big giant stream isn't all that fun. a file SHOULD be fun. so if you can make it more than just one boring old long ass stream, go for it. make sense?
