Re: Rubiks cubes
I know F2L and I use 2 Look OLL/PLL but I only have 4 of the 7 cases for the OLL memorized. Really if you just learn bow tie and chameleon you can use those to transform all the other cases to one of those before solving it, but obviously it would be better to just learn all the cases lmao :P.
My best single is 27s but I average around 35. One day I'll try to learn true CFOP, but I'm not sure if I want to get much better than like sub 20 haha. |

Re: Rubiks cubes
I used to be pretty into speedcubing and at my peak my best avg was 17 seconds and best single 13 sec, but that was like way back in 2003 or so
Also did a couple blindfolded solves, and my best was 5 minutes. Felt too mentally exhausting so I stopped (My method involved keeping track of 48 numbers and I had no mnemonics to make it easier) Last edited by leonid; 12-2-2016 at 07:58 PM.. |

At one point, for 3x3x3 BLD, I had a pretty good system down where the layout -> mnemonic translation was very fast, but I still found it really hard to just retain it all in my head. Edge permutations in particular were really hard to memorize quickly. (I did corner orientation, corner permutation, then edge orientation, edge permutation). The whole thing is super exhausting. I tried doing edges first but then for some insane reason I'd completely forget the corner stuff! It made no sense to me. Last edited by Reincarnate; 12-2-2016 at 08:23 PM.. |

Re: Rubiks cubes
I'd love to be able to solve BLD, but from what I've heard I'm pretty sure I'm not willing to put in the time nor effort required to do it.
If only it were easy lmao. |

Re: Rubiks cubes
o rubik's cube thread aaaa
I average around 8 seconds with pb around 5.4 seconds. Other than 3x3, I also do Megaminx, Square-1, and one-handed competitively Also can do BLD in around a minute or so. Best was just over 1 minute. Trying to finish learning 3-style method for BLD so I can get 40~50 second BLD solves Been doing this for half a decade now and still going xd

I collected twisty puzzles far more than solving. That said, I practiced basic 3x3 solves for a few months when I was competing with my friend in middle school. PR: 27.03 AVG: 40.27 Now? With an hour of warming up I could probably get it to a minute. |

Re: Rubiks cubes
I tried to learn F2L but dear god, there's no way I would be able to remember all those algz without going through 1K+ solves.
