Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
Well, from what I have seen, you and kokobeanie are the only ones that have submitted skins that the developers are truly somewhat fond of..so unless we get more submissions, this won't be much of a contest.

Don't worry

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
Based on the revised OP. The only reason some judges didn't give Genesis a high score was because it was in a 2.5 dimension. Correct me if I'm wrong cause no one gave a reason why it deserved a score like that. (I'm not mad about the scores. I'm just a bit annoyed at how there was no reasoning for a score like that.)
I'm going to make a new skin that's solely based on what the judges want this time and see what happens. Seems that a majority of them prefer vector based works. Also, I still think the judging system should be changed to what I suggested to make it more community based, but that's fine if it doesn't. |

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
It probably will be...but I think we'll just kinda start doing that for new submissions...the other ones for the most part just weren't the quality the dev's are looking for, and yeah... Quite honestly I thought your Genesis skin was pretty good. Only thing I could think of for it is maybe they thought it was too unprofessional looking in the sense that it was really over-the-top and meant to appeal to a general audience with the "cool design" (which is really the audience FFR is, so I think it probably would have been fine). That and perhaps they wanted more of a uniform standard for box sizes, so they weren't creating boxes for everything and could reuse one in particular? I dunno. We'll switch the judging style and demand more detailed input for the skins that are actually decent.

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
I wouldn't say it's unproffesional cause it actually wasn't, but based on other subbmissions it was deffinatly "over-the-top".
Whatever the reason behind some of the judges scores was, I'm making one last skin and it's going to be completely different from what I normally make. |

Well I wouldn't throw Genesis out of the window, it might get offered to the public as well for the voting in the end.

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
Once the actual game and skin interfacing is complete, building new skins wont be TOO difficult. So if a lot of the public wants a skin, no matter how much I dislike it, I can make it into a skin.
Keep the skins coming.

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
Justin_Ator's the guy with it all, and no one's really sent anything in as of the past month or two. If people actually got as into it as they were at the beginning hype, we could probably get things going again. Otherwise, it's really just an unfortunate scrap. (Though I may think we'll keep the top submissions anyway and use them, or just redo the contest when BW actually comes out.)

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
I think we're putting this on hold until Zag makes some real progress on BlackWebb, that way we can be more definitive about what we need and are expecting.
Not to mention when it does start going again, we're completely overhauling the current judging system for this. I've been thinking about it recently, have some ideas that I'm still working on to kind of get this to work better as far as judging goes.

Re: [BW Contest] I'll Skin You Alive!
i noticed the flash engine has been taken down. or at least the bookmark i had doesn't work anymore. I dont know whether to take that as a good sign or bad sign. Maybe ill throw an idea together. Im not good with photoshop, but the design concept i have i like.
