FFR Community Stepfile Project
Hey guys, it's Justin again. Here is the back story to this idea:
A while back, flashpantss posted a soundcloud link to his Dubstep megamix. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have listened to the song (even though it is an hour and a half long), and I find almost all of it enjoyable to some degree. Just a few days back, I decided to take on the monumental task of stepping the song (for Stepmania, obviously). I made it about five minutes into the song over this past weekend. This was also when a lot of the threads sprang up about rallying the community and getting more members involved, so I got an idea. Why not let the community take part in stepping something like this [and cause I'm too lazy to finish it ALL]? I got to thinking about the idea, and finally came to this conclusion: A combined effort to step this megamix! The song will be broken into its respective audio segments, by myself. Download links will be sent to those stepping each part specifically. Each person will be given the opportunity to "claim" up to three sections of the song that they would like to step. Each song segment will be allowed a maximum number of three Step-artists stepping it. My hopes with the multiple people stepping each individual part is potentially two difficulties. This will also allow for me to decline files if they are not good enough in quality for the overall file (I'm not a strict judge, if it goes with the music you have a decent chance of getting it in). While there will be tons of files submitted for this (hopefully), they will ultimately be released as a single song and file. I will take each person's work and compile it into a single SM file for the full-length song. The song is right here as well as on my soundcloud page (since he had to take it down from his to make room). http://soundcloud.com/justin_ator/kristy-dubstep-mix I have the individual mp3's for this done now, so you all can get your claims set and start stepping whenever you would like. If you don't like Dubstep, I apologize, but you're out of luck on this one. Maybe another project like this will happen again if this one goes well. Let me know if there are any comments/questions about this! PS, For anyone interested in finding specific songs for their music libraries.
