Good website host anyone?

I am looking for a good website host. I know there's a lot out there, but I have got a lot of deceptions in the past.

I also need PHP and MySQL, so that narrows the field of possibilities. I am ready to pay to get a good host, but if I can get a good service for free, that's even better.

So, have you ever got a website hosted? How did it went? I am waiting for your recommendations.

PS: For those wondering, I am going to use this site for a lot of different things. The Stepmania-France site I am working on, a couple of FFR related things that will get known in due time and other random things I feel like doing.
