I guess it depends on your sense of humor. I just think it would be funnier if there was a lot of effort put into having it display that your computer is on even if the ending joke is the same thing.

The effort having a script would make it all that more interesting but the amount of "lol'ing" going on would equally be the same in the end for me I guess.

I don't know how you would ever do any programming to check if a computer was on. It might be possible because I think there is some kind of code involved with the bios that checks to see if various hardware is on.
