History of Stepfile Ideals
From the beginning...
------------------------------ "hey lets make files rofl" "notepad and ctrl+r and dumps" "notes must represent some sound" "files must be onsync" "files must be layered" "files must be technical" "files must be creative" "files must be art" "files must be fun" ------------------------------ ... to the present. Do you guys see the pattern here? ------------------------------ Ancient Era - "hey lets make files rofl" Medieval Era - "notepad and ctrl+r and dumps" Renaissance Era - "notes must represent some sound" Baroque Era - "files must be onsync" Classical Era - "files must be layered" Romantic Era - "files must be technical" Contemporary/Modern Era - "files must be creative" Post-modern Era - "files must be art" Post-post-modern Era - "files must be fun" ------------------------------ Completely perfectly parallel to musical eras. Where do we go next?

Re: History of Stepfile Ideals
the smart investment is to sell now, since we dont know how much longer solo stocks will be worth this much.

Re: History of Stepfile Ideals
Where do we go from here? We go to solo, and repeat the process from the classical era.

Re: History of Stepfile Ideals
I completely disagree with the comparison to historical eras. Each of the eras had their own peak, their own completeness, before a new idea started to arise. Not so much in stepfile making. Honestly, people are just getting pickier with a silly game, so stepfile makers need to cater to that pickyness.

though I'm not sure the players care nearly as much as the stepfile makers honestly. the players who didn't make simfiles always just wanted fun stuff I think. in a circle, probably. either that or stick with fun files. you know, it is just a game. |

Sorry for jumping on this. I just hate sweeping generalizations about music history. And I love music history. e: actually, the romantic era was about creativity more than any other, now that I think about it. But it does have a strong root in technical perfection as well, if you think about the mechanics of playing. Last edited by Xandertrax; 09-14-2009 at 07:57 PM.. |
