The Dumb Injuries Thread!
Just yesterday, I was playing frisbee at 9 pm at my local park with a few friends of mine. A bomb was thrown high into the air, and I was looking up instead of forward, and BAM! I ran into a fence, and got 5 stiches to the top of my lip. Now, this isn't a severe injury by any stretch of the imagination, but it surely is a dumb one. So I ask you: what is the dumbest injury you (or a friend of yours) have gone through?

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
When i was in 5th grade, i played street football at recess
One day, i was running to the endzone to catch the pass and get the touchdown and right as i watched the ball go into my hands, i noticed the metal fence infront of me I ran right into it full speed and split my school 2 1/2 inches ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When i was 9 years old, i went camping. I had a small hand saw(about 1 foot long that folds up like a knife) well i was holding a small tree with my left hand and sawing back and forth with my right and i caught a knot and the saw came up and i sliced a 45 degree angle cut into my left index finger i could see the white bone, it was pretty intense. |

Two years ago, I kicked the front of a couch and fractured my big toe all the way down. Soccer legs give you that kind of force.

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
hehe... Last year, My friend and I jumped off my shed onto my trampoline (about a 10ft drop)... I flew off and landed back-first on the ground. I knocked my ribs about a half inch out of place... Couldn't breathe correctly for a month. >.<

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
Ouch, those are some pretty dumb injuries. >_> But yeah, I have one of my own.
Uh, about two and a half years ago, around the time that I joined FFR, I was outside with my brother playing soccer and it was like 9PM and completely dark, and I was wearing flip flops. (ROFL, yeah, stupid, huh?) But yeah, I was kicking the ball past him and running really fast sideways and there was a pot hole in the ground hidden beneath some grass.. So, you can imagine what happened. Well, the grass was slippery and I fell over sideways when my foot got stuck in there and there was just this loud cracking sound, it was horrible. I mean, I just lay there for about 5 seconds and then the pain started rushing up my leg like a wildfire and I started to cry, heh. This was about two months before the end of my 7th grade, and I was in crutches for the rest of that school year, which was like.. 1 month. But yeah, I learned my lesson. |

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
Two stories:
When I was in 2nd grade I ran back to the class from recess. I accidently put my hand on the door path. The door slammed shut on my right pinkey and left the bone completely broken into little pieces. That little ****er gave me a ****ing huge infection. Mother ****ing bastard. I joined a pie eating contest. Fun right? No. It ended up with a chipped front left tooth.

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
When i was in grade 7 I was looking in the fridge for food when I had a bad itch on the back of my knee. I was wearing very baggy shorts with tight cuffs. I scratched the back of my knee with my other foot. (Not standing on one leg) I then proceeded to step down without removing my foot from my shorts. I fell violently backwards getting a compression fracture in my right wrist.
In grade 9 I went to out local amusement park. Punched a punching bag and broke my wrist again. Beat that biches.

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
When I was ten, I was riding my bike up and down the street. It was a common game among the neighbors and I to ride through the ditch in front of my house and into my yard and then back onto the driveway and see how fast we could go. So during one of these races...I took off through the ditch, hit a rock at the very top, and went flying off the bike. Both the bike and I did a flip in mid-air, and luckily I was a dork and was wearing a helmet, because I crashed headfirst into the nearest tree. The bike landed on top of me. Somehow I didn't break anything but was in a LOT of pain. Ohhh to be a child again...

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
About 4 months ago now my friend who is an effing HUGE asain (like 6'4'' 280 pounds) put my other friends hat up on a ledge. Now me being 5'11'' should have no problem jumping up to grab it right? Of course not... I jumped up with plenty of hight and got the hat, BUT I happened to be wearing a ring at the time. It got caught on the lip of the ledge peeling the skin back on my finger (almost completely removing the skin/finger itself) and spraining the f*ck out of it. One car ride to the hospital and 20 stitches later the doctor is telling me how lucky I am that i didn't injure myself worse... Which did happen to piss me off at the time because it really hurt...=/ BUT i have cool pictures XD

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
The greatest part is i still wear my ring XD but I can't wear it on my right ring finger because it is too swollen to fit it on anymore, and as an added bonus I still have no feeling in a large portion of my finger too lolol

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
Yeah the scar wraps almost all the way around my finger it is about half an inch from connecting together... If it did i would have to have had a skin graft because the skin would have completely have been de-gloved from my finger

about 3 years ago, at my dad's house there is a little hill in the backyard. during winter with a lot of snow, i put a sled down, ran and jumped onto it, but i hit the side with my face again, knocking me out. that one i don't know how long i was out for.

Re: The Dumb Injuries Thread!
First Grade: The first time I rode a tricycle. I had no idea how to steer it, or how to stop it. But, I knew how to make it go. So I did. I started going, and down a rather steep hill at the perimeter of the playground. BAM, right into the fence. The little spaces between it almost ripped my left nostril off, and narrowly missed my eye with a fence tie. So I have a scar on the skin between my nostril and my cheek skin, and a deep scar on the right side of my right eye.
I was a legend at school after that. Second Grade: Some stingy bitch almost cut the top joint of my finger off. So there I was, cutting out some shapes on my construction paper. I accidentally dropped one, so I put the scissors on the table, and started crawling around on the ground looking for my shape. This stingy chick takes my scissors, and just starts using them. I got super pissed. I tried taking them back from her, but she wouldn't let me. So I grab at it one final time, and she closes the blades right on my finger. If I didn't pull back the slightest bit I did, it would've gotten my whole finger joint. Luckily, it caught the pad on my finger, and almost cut it off. I still cried like hell, and I still have a scar from it. Third Grade: Me and my friend were riding our bikes around the neighborhood. I was on my Batman bike, and he was on his big boy (geared) bike. I challenged him to a race, and he accepted. We started out neck-and-neck, then I started pulling out ahead, and really started leaving him behind. I took the last left turn, and was on the outside of the road, almost in the gutter. Then, I slowly started drifting into the gutter, and my bike skid on some sand in the gutter, and I went out of control. I had landed on my side, and started sliding on the gravel road. I had gotten a scrape all the way down my arm, and to my PINKY. I had also scraped my ear a little, but the worst was on my ankle bone, my skin had ground down almost to the bone. Then some lady checking her mail had to carry my to my house lol. Fourth Grade: Nothing for me. But my friend had fallen down on his bike and scraped the inside of his lip. He had to get gravel removed from the inside of his lip, and a lot o stitches. Fifth Grade: I had gotten mildly hit by a car, completely my fault, but it still hurt like hell. Sixth Grade: Nothing for me. My friend had fallen off the monkey bars at school and broke his leg though. Seventh Grade: I fell in a contaminated stream while hiking in an off-limits place with my friends. Got a major infection on my toe. Eighth Grade: Slammed my head in a trunk door thing. Concussion. Ninth Grade: Jumped off of the second floor of my school for a dare, and bent my fingers backwards, it hurt like hell. Tenth Grade: My friend (about 20 years old) had a motorcycle. The after the first time he rode it out of his house, he didn't have a motorcycle anymore. A TON of stitches, and several broken ribs. Some guy hit him at a stoplight. Twelfth Grade: Dropped a slap of concrete on my toe. The first time I had cried in MONTHS.
