Help, oh god please help

I can't remember the name of an author, like he wrote a story about an arabian city and cats.

He wrote a lot of stories based on his dreams, he's famous for his nightmarish dreamscapes.

His books now have pictures of impaled bodies on the covers.

Hes not a recent author, he's famous and been dead for while

I know this but it's driving me ****ing insane oh god.
