Default What's my style?

I hear people giving names to playing styles. I just dunno what I am. Spread or indexer? Or something else? GAH help. x_x

I play like this:

Left arrow: left middle finger.
Down arrow: left index finger.
Up arrow: right index finger.
Right arrow: right middle finger.

So wha? Am I still an indexer? Cuz I think indexers play just with index and well... I can't do that.

Can someone tell me what I am please?

You are spread, but Split is better =P.

Here is one Hamachi server to join, so you can play
me or other people (it was made by Xiaounlimited):

Network:FFR Touhou Online: IAMP

Also, I think the Hamachi networks and passwords are
case-sensitive, but I'm not sure. TYVM for playing
IAMP with me, (since there's no one to play right
now). :smile

It's not necessarily spread. You can change your setup as you play, I used to do that. It's like 4 finger index...

It's good you brought that up Blue Bird because I've been wondering the same about myself. I play with the keys NM,. and use:

left:left ring finger
down:left middle finger
up:right middle finger
right:right ring finger

I always thought spread meant that you played with one key right next to another. Can anyone clear that up and then tell me what my style is as well?

Generally speaking, any style that uses two fingers from each hand (So you have four fingers, two hands) is spread.

Index uses both index fingers

3-finger uses generally your index, middle and ring fingers on one hand.

4-finger uses generally your index, middle, ring fingers and thumb on one hand

One Hand - Using one hand to play FFR. Uses index, middle, and ring fingers.
Index - Using index fingers from both hands to play FFR.
Four Finger - Using two fingers from each hand to play FFR. Uses index and middle fingers.
Spread - Using two fingers on each hand, using a set of keys on a "straight" line. Use AHK to change the keys to your setup, or use left, down, numpad 8 (up), and numpad 6 (right).

That is the most common styles that are used. Check your setup, and match it.
