Please help!!!!!!!!!!

So I was just putting the finishing touches in DDReam on a file that I put an obscene amount of time into. I just saved it one more time, and then my computer crashed. However when I went back to the file it said everything was blank!!!! Where'd my **** go?!?!?!?!?!? How do I get it back?!?!?! I spent forever on that file.

Maybe you should remember where you saved it and backed it up on a flash drive.

sounds like you got royally ****ed

if you played the file in sm and saved it atleast once there then you can just use the OLD.sm file

I did most of it through SM, but did the final touches in DDReam. Would it still work? I'm gonna try it.

Maybe if in the simfile folder there is a song.sm.old

Just delete the .old and see if theres anything there.

Exactly what I just tried. And guess what.......

Now it's time to laugh off quite a few hours of work. OMG, great times. Great times. And all thanks to my computer. Funny, cuz I work full-time and still don't have enough money to buy a new one. roflmao

delete the .old and see if you can load it from sm. open up sm and the go to edit songs and go to the song

nono, a windows system restore. you do it in control panel -> system -> and then there should be a tab called system restore there

if you don't know what it is there's a good chance you don't have it activated though =(

this kind of thing happened to other people before (i've not heard of anyone getting ****ed by DDReam though), i'm not sure if anyone has had success recovering their file =(. it happened once to me

Do you still have the *.dsx file? If so, does it have data in it? Another thing to check is whether the ds, dsx, mp3, and/or sm file (if any) are in the same folder.

I'm not familiar with any of that and since it has to be installed I'm certain I don't have it

lol I did. But I guess since I was in the middle of editing in DDReam when it crashed it wiped all the data by fluke.

I don't think it's attributed to DDReam. Just a fluke data wipe due to a piece-of-crap computer.

*edit* I guess I'll just try to reconstruct it starting with an old chart I have. I still have a faint idea as to the placement I had.

I see. Well, Ive had many situations where I lost a simfile one way or another. the next version shall have a data backup feature that archives all your previous saves (you can disable it if you dont want it).
