Comptine D'un Autre Été.
Ok so today in French class right we're watching this movie, Amélie. But some way into it, I hear background music that sounds SUPER familiar. I knew it was something I had played on here, but I couldn't think of the title. So as soon as I got home, I checked the soundtrack of the movie and found:
"Comptine d'un autre été: L'aprčs-midi" - 2:20 ..On Wikipedia. We just so happen to have a techno mix. So I'm glad I found part of the origins for the song. Anyway also Amélie is a good movie so far (very.. quirky) so if you understand French or don't mind subtitles, I'd suggest watching it. You might get a kick from hearing that song all the time in the movie like me, haha. Well, at least twice so far. *edit**edit* 'kay nevermind I managed.

Re: Comptine D'un Autre Été.
The gist of the plot that I caught so far is this girl Amélie finds a secret treasure in her flat of a little boy's. Of course he was only a little boy in the 50s. She made it her mission to track down whose box of collectibles (things like pictures and figures of athletes) it was and give it back to him. If he enjoyed the present, she would continue to try to make other peoples' lives better. If not, well, too bad.
It's also quirky in the respect that just about every character has an odd personality. Hardly any character is all that flat. It sort of reminds me of the kind of character depth that's evident in the book Catch-22. One person's nicknamed "Man of Glass" and repaints Renoir pictures, another might love popping bubble wrap, there's a suicidal goldfish, etc.

Man, I love that song. I first found out about it on some guy's youtube channel where he teaches how to play songs on piano. And then I actually realized that we have a mix on FFR, but to tell the truth, I'm not that fond of it. But the original song is awesome.

How neat . Also, I really like reading subtitles of foreign movies . Plus, it sounds like a good movie, so I'll check it out .

Nice find. I just saw a really good French film (Les 400 Coups) so I'm interested. I might track this one down.
By the way, the actor who plays Nino Quicampoix is Mathieu Kassovitz, the same guy who plays the mugger in The Fifth Element.
