Having difficulty AAAing or Full Comboing? (MP Network solution too)
While I'm good, I'm still not quite good enough to AAA D10-11 songs (I used to get 70-100+ goods and 10-15 averages)
Here's a tip I have, GET A NEW KEYBOARD! It's simple, I had an old grimy keyboard that I continued to play FFR with for years and upon making the switch yesterday, I went from getting 70-100 goods down to 20-40 and 0-1 averages per D10 songs. This is a HUGE improvement for me, all thanks to the non-sticky slick keys my new keyboard brought with it. The improvement was instantaneous and you can notice a huge difference in my scores from a few days ago to my scores today, getting below rank 800 on any song I play. Also, another tip that's obvious is to use the Standalone Flash 8 player. That combined with my new board has left FFR flawless, I get no lag whatsoever and now I have no complaining to do. Any error is my own. Also, for anyone having trouble with connecting to multiplayer, Sweagen came up with a solution that works for me and I didn't have to forward any ports. Quote:

lolol you've made lives happy again by the MP thing. New keyboards help sometimes, most of the time I get one the keytaps lag. :/

MP trick not working.
Hell, I've been waiting 20 seconds, and it still says "connecting". EDIT: Can't connect. |

You sure you're doing it right? If you have the same problem as the other people... did you make sure you're waiting a certain amount of time when it first tries to connect, then clicking the little button shaped like a C in the FFR game window then reconnecting and waiting? |

First, I waited 10 seconds, and tried the trick. Nothing. Then, kept adding a second after every try. Nothing. Finally, I just let it load to see how long it would take before any new message would pop up. 22 seconds... Well, now... |

The solution I made was just what worked for me and it worked for a few other people, so I guess the solution isn't the same for everyone. If it doesn't work out you could still try the port forwarding thing that was suggested by a few people in the other thread... |

I actually didn't wait 10 seconds, that didn't work for me. If I wait 3-5 seconds and back out and then immediately click back in, it connects for me. It varies per person I suppose.

Sounds interesting; the next time I go to buy a laptop now, I'm going to just base my decision on the keyboard. XD

Use Flash 9; it's better than 8.

Re: Having difficulty AAAing or Full Comboing? (MP Network solution too)
The Flash 8 standalone works best for me, the Flash 9+ standalones cause stutter and lag like ****ing hell on my FFR. I suppose whatever works for the individual.
I'm also not using Game Booster either, just the Flash 8 standalone stopped all FFR lag that I was experiencing. I did have Flash 9 and Game Booster and it didn't improve my performance at all, but a new keyboard and flash 8 did. |
