I enjoyed Blue.
Rolls were not terrible and the jacks had excellent transitions. JS felt pretty smooth too. Overall very happy with the file, great job Dissler

Holy crap bmah first Shippuujinrai and now Double Helix. Your files have been kicking ass lately!
FUSE!! was also pretty great. Also one of the more interesting guitar solos in the game. Blue felt pretty overstepped. It flowed nicely but I would have preferred an easier file for this song. I don't have much to say about the rest except D3 is going to hate Be-Music Polyphony so much rofl |

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
Yes not a fan of Polyphony... Ill be blessed to get a SDG on it...
--Clockwork was under-stepped in my opinion, but most low level songs are. --Strength was a fun song to play, really smooth, natural transitions. --Polyphony must have been a pain in the ass to write, I could imagine that being with any jazz song. --Plousa just didnt seem to step right to me, just constantly uncomfortable playing the song. --Blue was also pretty fun to play, I like the numerous transitions, but was very smooth to play, I sense AAA or die this round for this song... --Fuse was interesting, I don't know how I feel about it yet. --Double Helix was perfect, usually I don't like songs I can barely step, but this was just pure art.

D3 is amazing definitely feels more than a 52, I say a 54 maybe
D7 is pure bmah art, even though is too hard for me but its very fun to hear and play, thanks bmah D5 is very nice, kind of tricky the last section but is fun

D5 was fun. 7g and it didn't record. D4's difficult songs better be like this so I have a chance.

What a hell of a time I'm going to have. My weakness is 20 difficulty if I AAA this D1 song I'm very lucky.

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
I really liked D3's song, although it was a bit hard for a lvl 52
D4's song was a bit too easy tho imo |

Double Helix is one of the best files in the tourney, and one of the best files released this year

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
D1: nothing interesting, except the difficulty, which only crawls forward over the rounds for D1, it seems.
D2: fun file, nice grace notes in the second half D3: holy shit this is so much fun, <3 cornman, lol @ difficulty difference with D2 though D4: straightforward and kind of boring, but couldn't really find fault with the steps D5: yeah, dunno, I would've liked to see less rolls haha, but the patterns are fine D6: Oh yes, a scintill file, that can only mean awesomeness and indeed, it delivers. Smartdude is totally right about the grace notes though: awkward to hit legit, easy to fudge. There are no hard parts really, so I'm guessing AAA/bf as cutoff D7: a hard bmah file that isn't super-frustrating? Is it possible? Yes it is! Absolutely amazing chart with some tricky spots, but no major omfgwhy-spots Much hype.

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
Thank you to bmah for the thread as usual; as a return favor, I'll be sure to update Shippuujinrai when I get home from work today! <3
As far as D3's file; the initial rating upon release was actually lower but I bumped it up a point from what was listed before, haha. I personally think 52-53 is fine, but I don't think this is approaching VC territory. A difficulty consultant can come and clear that up if I am wrong, though! |

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
Division 1
Torvus Clockwork Musician: Darkesword Stepartist: Silvuh Difficulty: 20 Genre: Space Music Song Length: 1:56 Tourney file feels really just tourney ready. I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't hate it either. Sort of a neutral ground. Division 2 Strength Musician: syzfonics feat. salita Stepartist: bmah Difficulty: 33 Genre: Ballad Song Length: 2:36 Ehhhhh see last one. Division 3 Be-Music Polyphony Musician: Chelp Stepartist: hi19hi19 Difficulty: 52 Genre: Fusion Jazz Song Length: 2:10 I dunno why Double Helix is getting so much love and this file isn't getting the same amount. It's a damn good file. I enjoyed this one a lot. Certainly will be trying to AAA this tonight. Best file of the tourney so far imho. Division 5 Blue Musician: Au5 & Fractal Stepartist: DossarLX ODI Difficulty: 73 Genre: Drumstep Song Length: 2:16 Suffers the same fate as Truth did for me. It's not a horrible file, but I can't really say it was fun or particularly enjoyable for me personally. Division 6 FUSE!! Musician: Godspeed Stepartist: SKG_Scintill Difficulty: 79 Genre: Hard Metal Song Length: 3:07 Yes. Last edited by XelNya; 10-16-2014 at 09:49 PM.. |

Re: 10th Official Tournament - Round 3 Songs
Kinda torn on FUSE after playing it a few times.
The 48ths in the hard part seem kinda BS (I'm guessing you were stepping them to the bend sounds as you were earlier in the file, but there's no actual note being played to them) and as a result I don't really enjoy that section. I know Nathan brought this up many times and I can kinda see why... but the rest of the file is fantastic. So yeah. Very torn on what to think of it. Double Helix was also very fun, but there were a few transitions I wish were different. That doesn't invalidate it being a great file, of course. Definitely one of the more enjoyable recent bmah files, but I preferred Shippuwhatever to this to be totally honest. Also the ending is SUPER mindblockable, Samurai was going on about how lucky he was to hit it on the first try and after playing for myself, I can see why.
