Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
current overall = 19,572
current av rank = 12,500 Hello everyone! my goal is basically to get to the top overall 100 as a one-hander. i am a one-hander and my best fc so far is "the world as we know it" but anyway, ill be going through a few different stages during this goal, and theyll be listed below. 1. get a score in every public song (I have 95 songs left to play, 14 of those songs, i need credits for, and if its one thing i suck at, its getting credits, i only have 500 atm..DONATIONS WOULD BE GEATLY APPRECIATED, IF YOU WANT, I WILL GIVE THE CREDITS BACK AFTER IVE PLAYED THE SONGS..... 2. FC every public song, this will take a considerable amount of time longer, but I will not give up, I have no idea how many songs ive FCed so far, i thin around 50, but anyway, yeah. 3. AAA every public song, so far, ive only AAAd 4 lvl 1 songs lol, but ill get there DONATORS: none yet P.S when i get to 1 million credits, i am planning on making a huge tornoument, just so you know |

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
first off... don't beg. if you play as much as you plan on playing... you'll earn plenty of credits to do what you want to do with.
also... there are only about 3 or 4 people on the entire site who have FCed every song. nobody has AAAed every song. FCing 99% is a doable goal though, and we even have an achievement token for that goal. AAAing every song... just not possible. and that isn't one of those "lets shoot some random guy down" things. it'd be like running a mile in 2 minutes. it won't ever happen. finally... trying to do remotely close to any of those things as a 1-hander... well... there are maybe 2 or 3 1-handers that could close even remotely close, and even then... still not THAT close. maybe not even 2 or 3. the one goal on your list that is doable without any actual skill is top100 overall. since that is purely based on how much you play. if you play a lot, you can do it. be warned though... 100th place is over 11 billion points currently. if you play 100 mil a day for 4 or 5 months, you could do it. but even playing 100 mil in 1 day is hard... takes a few hours, minimum. doing it for 120+ straight days is... well... it'll require a lot of dedication and free time. and some skill.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
being someone who has been to the top of the overall ranks, i'd say it seriously wasn't worth it... at all. do something more constructive with your time and don't make the mistake i made of playing this game 6 hours a day.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
Tass isn't being a dick or anything. He's right. You're setting such a huge goal for someone who only joined a month ago. It takes skill and A LOT of time. You also can't just come onto the forums and beg for credits >_> You'll probably get turned down or bitched at. We're not trying to tell you to forget about your goal, just start somewhere small like getting your over all rank under 9k and praciting more.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
it's good to set goals and I hope you stick to the game. The only thing Tass. is saying is that it is not realistic for anyone to AAA every song but you can try to prove him wrong if you want. No offense was intended. And earn credits don't beg for them. That's what I'm doing and that's how they are supposed to be obtained.

Ain't shootin down your goals or nothin, but your setting your goals to standards that are next to impossible, try something do-able; like top 1000 (or lower), or FC 50%. I'd like to think i'm pretty good at this game, but even still, i doubt i'll make that.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
I say let him keep his goals. Though they are ludicrously high, they're still goals. If you're playing for a purpose, you'd tend to practice more, play more, get better faster so that you can acheive those goals.
My goal for the past week has been to get Here We Go, and I'm really close. I've been playing my ass off and have been building a lot of skill I didn't have say... a month ago. It most likely won't happen, not any time soon for anyone for that matter, but it's still a goal. Go for it Bolth. |

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
lower your standard. i can understand if you try to AAA half the public songs, but all? i like your spirit, but it won't really help you if you know it's hopeless.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
Don't worry this is just how the general FFR community is. If you aren't one of a handful of long-timers and well-knowns you get largely ignored or laughed at, even if you get good scores.
Switch to spread. Live breathe and eat FFR/SM for 6 months straight. Laugh at everyone when you're one of the top on the site. You get as much out of FFR as you put in, cut your goals down and you only sell yourself short.

Re: Bolth's Goals of top 100 overall
I'm gonna reiterate for you.
DEATH PIANO AAA IS IMPOSSIBLE. OKAY?! I admire your goals. They are very ambitious, but you will not be able to AAA all the songs in the game. It's just a fact. To further your skill, you may also have to learn a different playing style. The one-handed playing style has inherent disadvantages that can be overcome by learning spread. It will be up to you to decide if you'd like to switch at a later date. You'll be sticking around for quite awhile to meet all of your goals. It took me about 1.7 years to make it into the Top 100 for both average rank, and overall rank. I'm sitting at rank 70 for overall, and rank 80 for average. Good luck with the tasks you have set for yourself. I hope you complete as many of them as you can. Last edited by foilman8805; 09-5-2008 at 04:34 PM.. |
