The main difference I noticed since I got involved in the community back in 2014 is that the sm scores thread got progressively slower. Even then that's a transition from dead to deader.

Kinda directed at Neon, there isn't really that much to talk about the game itself so it isn't surprising that related chats and communities tend to diverge to other topics. Sharing scores, talking about events, discussing techniques, getting stepping feedback and debating difficulty ratings only gives you so much conversation fodder.

Almost unfair to bring Cetaka up considering how good he was at that. And honestly, patterning and song choice were always bad (i.e. unoriginal or uninteresting) for the most part aside from a select few stepartists or specific charts. Naturally, you'll tend to remember more the better charts from yore which accentuates the feeling that recent files are garbage.
