Re: American Accent.
I thought I had a normal Canadian accent, but apparently not. I visited in the states, and they told me my accent (and other British Columbians) was as close to the British accent you can get, other than New Zealanders. The Australians exaggerate the accent too much to sound British. I myself don't entirely believe my accent is that close to being British, but I guess it's because people can't really notice their own accent.
A side thought: After a certain age, people's accents get more "fixed", so to speak. I think it would be cool to move somewhere else around then, get an accent, and move back after a year or two and have that accent for the rest of my life. Accents are cool.
P.S. According to the quiz, I have a Canadian accent. It actually got it right. I also had a British friend take the quiz and he got Western.
