Making Stepmania play more like ffr?

Was wondering if there is anyway to make Stepmania play more like FFR. Used to play Stepmania a ton but haven't played since I found FFR. After playing it again everything just feels kind of, "off"....

Issues with songs/the game loading

Ever since the valentines day down time I've been having issues getting pretty much everything to load in FFR. I have to refresh the game itself loading 2 or 3 times before it loads to song selection...

Thought I was going to be division 1 for sure, but I snuck into D2 somehow. Really looking forward to this tournament.
