I need a good converter

If this is the wrong place for this, someone can move it.

I need a good free video converter that will allow me to convert files in .rmvb format to mpeg4 format, for my new iPod. I've already looked and tried a few but none of them seem to work reliably. It might just be the format that I'm trying to convert from, but nothing's really worked so far. Suggestions?

Does it need to have a batch conversion function?

Here's one... perhaps.

All the ones I use are Japanese =_=, so I did a bit of searching and function checking on the US side.

The link Midday posted is good, but I always used Videora for my iPod stuff.

I already tried videora, it just makes a file with nothing in it.

I'll look into midday's now...

edit: ooh, forgot to mention I'm trying to convert anime episodes and stuff that are about 20 minutes long. I don't really want to have to buy anything...

Yeah, I just read the front page of the site, and it does not mention Real Player videos. I never understood why there are certain videos only for Real Media Player.

oic.

Another option is to camstudio/dxtory the anime you want as an avi, then convert that into an mp4.

There are more avi to mp4 converters than there are rmvb to mp4 converters... that's for sure. (Videora)

Dunno, most of the converters I used started a conversion and finished in like 3 seconds. And produced a file with like 8kb which was about 1 second of video -_- I don't know...

The Any Video Converter is pretty cool for getting youtube vids though =D
