Just simply impressive. Discuss.

Impressive how they end simultaneously. Wow.

Impressively clean FF6 run too; the FF5 run is slow because he's doing unnecessary stuff to lag a bit so the FF6 run catches up, but the FF6 run is nearly an hour under the fastest non-TA run.

I wonder how long that took to preprogram. That is a crazy amount of planning.

Edit: Also you were off by a whole forum category.

Because in theory, there is no way to "skip" certain things in FF5 so you essentially have to play the entire game. In FF6 you can skip getting characters in the World Of Ruin thus letting you beat the game a heck of a lot quicker but yes regardless it is really quick.

Only two games?

Mega Man 3, 4, 5 & 6
Super Mario Bros., 2, The Lost Levels & 3

The guy that worked on that Mega Man run is now working on a 9-games Mega Man run. It probably won't be finished before a while though.

In all of these games you can only go in 4 directions. I'd like to see a multiple game TAS with a 3D game such as ocarina of time + super mario 64.

This would be ridiculous amazing if that happened.

And Emerald, Megaman has 2 directions, and IMO, is a lot simpler, yeah you have to pay attention more, but you can just fire a bunch of times and hope for the best and keep killing on the other screens.

The final fantasy speed runs are a little more impressive IMO since you have to plan out your course of attack and how you plan on ending both games at the same time. Regardless, any multi game single input speed run is impressive, I just find certain ones to be more impressive then others.

Well, he dicks around in FF5. I mean, e.g. he does the Pyramid and kills Omega Weapon for no reason whatsoever other than to probably waste sufficient time to beat the game at the same time as FF6 (And well, for the lulz given that beating Omega in and of itself is really hard to do in FF5. Doing it in a speed run is hilarious).

I mean, the WR non-TAS run for FF5 is 26 minutes faster than this run, so that in and of itself speaks, whereas the FF6 run is 56 minutes faster than WR, which is amazing given how amazingly optimal the non-TAS run already is. Who would ever have figured you could shave that much time off in theory haha.
