Playback is getting my gameplay wrong.

This has happened to me several times and I finally have proof.

Those are the results of the game I played,

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play/58197776/
That's the link to the video of me playing the game.

That's me playing about 120 notes in.

That's me at about 11k points in. Notice how I missed a note in there. The note I missed while playing was the second to last note in the entire song.

And that's the results of the playback. See the huge difference in stats?

Please help me with this. It's sortof because I want to see myself play and see my mistakes, but also, I want other people to see my playing. Thanks.

FFR used to have a bug where if two arrows were really close together you'd get an average on one and a miss on the other. It's fixed in the actual game now, but the replays still have that bug in them.

Oh well that's annoying. Is there anything the staff can do about it?

They don't want to change it because it serves as an anti cheat.

It's extremely annoying, but it does serve as a bot catcher. songs difficulty 9 and under usually don't have this problem, but I have a few 10s in my replays without avmisses, anything past 10 is hopeless.

I amongst others would like to see this fixed, but it IS the only way to prove cheating, and nobody likes cheaters.

What I would prefer (as well as many others) is to have the ability to choose between avmiss replay and no-avmiss replay. That way, people can enjoy their replays in addition to having the other type for cheat-proof purposes. Why stick with one type of replay when you can choose to have both?

How exactly does it serve as cheat detection? If a bot plays death piano* and gets a AAA in the actually game the avmiss replay will still get avmisses...

Re: Playback is getting my gameplay wrong.

IIRC, that is the point. People who cheat probably would post a replay that shows no misses, but there's a very low probability that someone would AAA a song on framerates that would not induce an avmiss - this mainly applies to more difficult songs.

In any case, I'd like to have both avmiss replays and a normal non-avmiss replay option available, one for cheat detection and the other for aesthetic purposes.

A botted score generally consists of hitting all the notes on the same frame, opposed to a legit score having variation within the perfect window. This results in a botted replay having fewer avmisses.

I think they mean using the trainers, not bots

I agree with the suggestion of getting two replays. I think it'd be really nice.

If you analyze where a botted replay hits avmisses, you know what frame it's hitting the notes on. If it hits every note on the same frame it's an obvious bot.

I guess, you could just make the bot have a random chance to do an offset of +1 or -1 inside the perfect frame.

You could, but do people go to the effort?
