FFR has been broken all year so I'm done
Posted on: June 1, 2021, at 04:45:24pm

If you've noticed I've quit the game, it's actually because the game decided to simply stop working and no logical (or as close to logical as you can get in this scenario) processes have had any effect on the matter. I am completely unable to play FFR on my computer.

So for the past six months I haven't been able to get FFR working and the professionals haven't been able to help me with my issue and the extent of it is "just download from the website," or "this is an isolated bug." I've wiped FFR and reinstalled it dozens of times with each version.

https://prnt.sc/13ori8e

I've tried running it in compatibility mode, running it as an administrator, and I tried downloading the last version of Adobe Air separately and adding all the programs to the exceptions for Windows Firewall, and on top of that I've tried running all versions of the game with both firewall and antivirus disabled. The game is completely fucked and will never run again, and at this point no one can convince me otherwise. Until someone makes a half-ways decent rhythm game on the PC, you can consider me officially retired.

Fuck this broken-ass game. I don't need to spend thousands of hours not playing a game on a defunct piece of software when there are several worthwhile games out there, and quadrillions of more productive things I can be doing with my time. If FFR wasn't dead before, it most certainly is now. People won't be bringing this issue up to staff or the forums. They will simply give up much more readily than I have, and the few remaining will keep playing their broken game in their tiny little bubble until the heat death of the universe.

I'd like to play the fucking game if it actually started fucking working, but at this point I'm fucking done trying. Jae will let me know if there's ever a Steam version released.

I might try charting stuff for the 20 people who can still run this game since that is all I can do at this point, but it's clear to me that there is no way to get this program working on my computer, or probably any computer that's been made in the past 10 years for that matter. You'd probably have to be running Windows XP at this point to get it to work.
