OT16 -- AKA Membrane Nightmares [D7]

First OT, and first tourney outside of Mania in the first place -- been loving this game ever since i found out i could play it on school breaks, so time to finally get involved in this national holiday!

R1: xi - The End of Dreams (Cut Ver.) [VisD]
AAA
Very fun map, the bursts at the end started getting threatening. Took 5-ish tries (w/ 1 blackflag). Not really a sightread though, because this map (at 250bpm) was in MWC 2022 LOL

R2: katagiri - Angel's Salad [jh05013]
BF
Pretty fun! I knew what to expect from this (neurofunk and breakcore mapping) because the song has showed up a bunch of times, but surprisingly non-scary. Got a sightread BF and just ran with it

R3: ARM ft. Choko - A Battle I Absolutely Can't Lose ~ Kill The Nyanko [suicidaln00b]
3-0-0-0
First map I had to really grind out, probably got pretty mindblocked on this to be honest... The dubstep parts weren't too bad, but the psytrance part with the anchors killed my stamina and made this hard. 30-ish tries to get this. Thankfully managed to erase the Boos by the end

R4: Silentroom - Nhelv [Wind0ze & Deamerai]
2-0-0-1
i typed the blurb for this with a 5-0-0-0, and then on my next try i got 2-0-0-1... okay i'm counting my blessings today. Spiky ending, badass song, easier than R3 LMAO

R5: Camellia - Illegal Trap [DarkZtar]
1-0-1-1
Really fun map! Same kind of bursty deal as with R3, again, but adjusting to the barrage of 32nds was so fun that I didn't mind grinding this. 7-0-0-0 -> 3-0-1-0 -> 1-0-1-1: Got this absolutely esoteric score on try #25 w/ an early miss, but usually I choked before the 2nd drop regardless. Fun fact: this is my 4th top play as of now! ... but my top 5 is all 98s

R6: lufm - O Wings That Embrace Senju Banmei [suicidaln00b]
3-0-0-0
Definitely my favourite SN map yet, the streams in here were crazy satisfying. The jacks were my main problem, but the first time I played this it didn't seem too bad.. and it really wasn't apparently??? RG count: 22 -> 19.2 -> 12 (-> choke) -> 3. New #1 play, might never touch this again LMAO

R7: Frums - VIS::CRACKED [Another] [Deamerai]

and whoops there goes my skillcap. Shoutouts to Deamerai for being good enough to still be around to play his own file, that's some gangsta business right there... Anyway GGs, fun jumpstreams! Got Taunfolk with my token and ended up losing in MWC the next week, so that's that VSRG summer. Will be sure to return next year!
